Auditions Announced for THE BEACON at Dayton Theatre Guild

Auditions will be held Mon & Tue, March 30 & 31, 2026, starting at 7:00 pm both nights.

Production dates: May 22-June 7, 2026

On a storm-battered island off the Irish coast, a renowned artist retreats to a skeletal cottage, trying to rebuild a life from the wreckage of her past. But when a young woman goes missing, submerged secrets are dragged to the surface, and the past refuses to stay hidden.

Casting Requirements:

• Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
• A résumé and headshot are not required but are appreciated.
• Please provide a list of all known conflicts between April 1 & June 7, 2026

Roles

• Beiv:
  late 50s-mid 60s, from Dublin — family matriarch, and artist
• Colm:
  mid-late 30s, from Dublin — Beiv’s son
• Bonnie:
  mid-20’s-early 30s — from California — Colm’s new wife
• Donal:
  mid-late 30s, from Dublin — Colm’s childhood friend
• Ray:
  late 20s-30s — from Dublin — Podcaster

NOTE: If you are auditioning for any role except Bonnie, please be prepared to attempt an Irish dialect. It doesn’t matter how good it is. Coaching will be available later, if need be.
