A struggle between greed and idealism fuels the friendships, actions and songs of “Dear World,” the musical by Jerry Herman (“Hello, Dolly,” “La Cage aux Folles”).

The show is based on the novel The Madwoman of Chaillot by Jean Giraudoux.

Our protagonist, Countess Aurelia, engages her colorful friends in a scheme to stop businessmen from drilling for oil in the Parisian neighborhood of Chaillot.

Enjoy lively lines and lyrics delivered by quirky characters and fiendish businessmen as we witness the forces of innocence, love and poetry pitted against greed, materialism and science.

Directed by Dennis Murphy, music-directed by Linda Abbott, and produced by Valeria Amburgey.
