Cast Announced for THE PRODUCERS at Covedale Center for the Performing Arts

CCPA_The ProducersCincinnati Landmark Productions is proud to announce the cast of THE PRODUCERS!

THE PRODUCERS!
March 14 – April 7, 2024
Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan. Music and Lyrics by Mel Brooks
In the Arnold and Mary Jo Barnett Performance Hall Located at Covedale Center for the Performing Arts

Mel Brooks’ classic-cult-comedy-Broadway-musical comes to the Covedale! Our 2015 production sold out in hours, leaving many laugh-hungry patrons unable to see the show! Now it’s back! Come giggle and cheer as a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant try to produce the biggest flop in history, bilking their backers out of millions of dollars! Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! With a slew of gloriously outrageous songs like “Springtime For Hitler”, “Prisoners of Love” and “I Wanna Be a Producer”, the show skewers Broadway while setting the standard for in-your-face-humor. At the core of this insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends, making for a truly a boffo show, that won a record twelve Tony Awards. It’s sure to wow capacity crowds night after night!

Production team: Tim Perrino, Director; Greg Dastillung, Music Director, Cassidy Steele, Choreographer and Angelica Ortiz, Stage Manager

ALPHAS_Comedy College PosterIncreased confidence, fun, and friendship are primary goals.

(Clifton) Cincinnati, OH – Alphas Comedy, the local women’s improv and sketch group, is launching a new educational initiative aiming to offer students a comfortable environment in which to thrive.

The inaugural term of “Alphas Comedy College” begins Monday, February 12. The first class Alphas is offering is “Ladies’ Level 1 Improv Class”, which runs for 8-weeks, concluding with a class show for students’ friends and family. This is the first of a series of four levels of improv comedy for female-identifying students.

According to Alphas Comedy Artistic Director Patricia Mullins, “The purpose of our new education initiative is to create a space where women feel safe to fail, to have new experiences, and to express the funny person that they are.”

The first courses are basic improv classes, but Alphas plans to offer a wide variety of opportunities, including stand-up, sketch comedy, acting, and more.

Alphas has several upcoming shows in January and February, including
“The Improvised Bachelorette” on January 20 at Know Theatre, and “Alphas: A Period Piece – A Comedy Variety Show” January 26-27.

Brahms’ GERMAN REQUIEM On Feb. 9-11

CSO_Brahms German RequiemBrahms’ GERMAN REQUIEM
Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra
Feb. 9-11
Music Hall [Over-the-Rhine]

Louis Langrée, conductor
Joélle Harvey, soprano
Will Liverman, baritone
May Festival Chorus

With prayerful music for both the living and the dead, the source of comfort in Brahms’ German Requiem is as much human as it is the divine. Louis Langrée leads the CSO along with the May Festival Chorus in Brahms’ large-scale masterpiece. Though Brahms was often discreet in nature, this is a deeply personal work. Spurred by the loss of his mother, and influenced by lingering emotions of self-doubt, he turned to his true religion – music – as a way to console not only himself, but others as well.

We believe that great music is for everyone, regardless of your budget. This concert is eligible for Pay What You Wish Pricing, as well as other discounts. To learn more visit Music for All.

  • Fri-Sat, Feb. 9-10 at 7:30pm
