CABARET
Cincinnati Actor’s Studio & Academy
July 29-Aug. 7
[Avondale]

Directed by Gina Cerimele-Mechley
Music directed by Joe Montgomery
Choreographed by Gina Cerimele-Mechley & Cecelia Gries

Cast: Alex Pletikapich as Emcee, Maddi O’Connell as Sally, Trey Finkenstead as Cliff, Nick Swope as Ernst, Kate Stuard as Fraulein Schneider, Kayamarie Roll as Fraulein Kost, Ethan Brooks Baker as Herr Schultz, Hannah Hodson as Rosie, Sabrina Mack as Lulu, Peyton Wright as Frenchie, Cassandra Reeves as Fritzie/Gorilla, Cecilia Gries as Helga, Chandler Murray as Texas, Jason Coffenberry as Bobby, Tre Taylor as Victor, Con Williamson as Herman, James Pinkley as Train Officer/Sailor/Max & Jonathon Armstrong and Kat Swift as Bodyguards

In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920s draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Mature content and triggering scenes.
