GHCT and director Chris Beiser are happy to announce auditions for STEEL MAGNOLIAS.
Sun-Mon, July 31-Aug. 1 from 7-9pm
Auditions will take place at the Creative Center at the Palace
215 S. Third St.
Hamilton, OH 45011
Auditions will consist of reading from the script.
Rehearsals will begin the week of August 15th and will be 4 times a week. Specific rehearsal dates will be decided depending on cast availability. Those auditioning should be ready to list all conflicts from August 15-October 2.
Performances are set for September 29-October 2, 2022
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
- Truvy: (40-50). Owner of the best local beauty shop in Chinquapin, Louisiana.
- Annelle:(18-24). Beauty shop assistant. Nervous. New to town.
- Claire: (55-70). Widow of the former mayor. Grande dame.
- Shelby: (22-25). Prettiest girl in town. About to be married.
- M’Lynn: (50-early 60). Shelby’s mother. Socially prominent career woman.
- Ouiser: (55-70). Wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic but loveable.
The women in this play are witty, intelligent, and above all, real characters. They in no way are meant to be portrayed cartoonish or as caricatures.
