Inspired by the playwright’s youthful experience as a staff writer on Sid Caesar’s “Your Show of Shows”  (which included Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks and Woody Allen) with all the attendant comic drama, Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor focuses on the harried writing staff as they frantically scramble to top each others gags while competing for the attention of star madman “Max Prince”.

Warning – Adult language.

The cast of 9 consists of seven men (young to middle age) and two women (early 20s to 30s).
Auditions will involve cold readings from the script. Rehearsals begin in July.
If you cannot make the audition dates and are interested in a role, contact John Wesseling at johwesseling6@gmail.com to schedule an alternate audition.

We’re very excited to say that the Sunset Players won a $25,000 grant to alter our HVAC systems to help sterilize the air. There will also be spray system that will help sterilize the auditorium in between performances. And while we hope by October that the danger of COVID will be almost over, we will also adhere to any mask mandates for rehearsals and or performances!

So we think we’re a great place to start back to theater!!
Come on down!
