The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s Virtual Summer Camps

Wednesday, May 20, 2020, CINCINNATI:   Due to COVID-19 and in the interest of social-distancing and keeping the health and safety of all local families in mind, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati has moved all One-Week Summer Camps to an online platform for June & July 2020.

TCT is now offering week-long Musical Theatre Intensive Virtual Camps for three different age groups:

  • 6 to 7 years old: Featuring Disney’s 101 Dalmatians
  • 8 to 10 years old: Featuring: Disney’s Descendants
  • 11 to 14 years old: Featuring The Addams Family

The deadline to register for June Camps is THIS FRIDAY, May 22 at 12 noon. (No exceptions due to TCT prep time required.)

TCT’s Virtual Camps are designed to be fun!  Here’s what Campers can expect:

  • 3 hours of activities daily Monday-Friday
  • A balance of on-screen instruction and off-screen projects
  • Small class sizes
  • A bag full of supplies and activities to keep at home
  • Live theatre arts training from TCT Professionals
  • Pre-recorded tutorials
  • Fun & memorable experiences 

Tuition is just $100 for the week. with a choice of a morning half-day camp, or an afternoon half-day camp. Each half-day session will be three hours long, Monday-Friday.

Falcon Theatre Pesents SOLDIER, COME HOME…Online!

FT_logoThanks to all of you who helped make our first two online offerings a big success! We’re back with another free online production for you to enjoy.

Falcon Theatre is excited to announce that SOLDIER, COME HOME the third of our online offerings, is now ready to view…and it’s free!

Falcon Takes Flight, Falcon Theatre’s outreach initiative, takes art out into the community and performs literary works by regional authors and poets.  We’re excited to share Soldier, Come Home with all of our loyal fans:

SOLDIER, COME HOME is presented by Falcon Theatre, musical trio Raison D’Etre, author Frank W. Wicks and was first produced as part of the Signature Series at the Campbell Country Public Library in 2013.  The actors in the production are Holly Sauerbrunn, Jay Dallas Benson, Kyle Daniels, Nathan Tubbs and Ted Weil.

Online Auditions Announced for THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) at The Drama Workshop

THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED)

The Drama Workshop is pleased to announce auditions for The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged).  The play will be directed by Becky Collins and opens Drama Workshop’s season with performances running August 8 – 22. Rehearsals will begin June 22.

The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) calls for a cast of 3 performers in any combination of gender identity. There is a possibility that the show may be double cast.

Fill the form out and submit it as instructed.  A collection of monologues from the show will be sent to you.  Choose one monologue from Group A and one from Group B.  Videotape a yourself performing the two chosen monologues using a wide, full body shot and send the videos to the email address provided on the speeches. Please clearly state your name at the start of the video(s). Facial expression and physicality will be as important as how well you read the speeches.

Audition videos are due no later than May 30.

After the videos have been reviewed, the director will contact those performers whom she would like to invite to a call-back. Online call backs will be held in small groups via Zoom.

Video Auditions Announced for DAISY at Falcon Theatre

FT_logoAuditions for the first production of our 2020-2021 season, Daisy, are being held through online video submissions. Click the “Submit Audition” button below to submit your audition. Call-backs will be held virtually via Zoom if needed.

  • Headshots must be PDF, or JPEG format

  • Louise Brown – Late 30s. Caucasian. A copywriter. Brassy but knows her place. Has taken years and worked hard to get where she is.
  • Tony Schwartz  – Early 40s. Caucasian. A sound archivist, independent media specialist and agoraphobic. Not aware of social norms.
  • Clifford Lewis – 30s to early 40s. African American. A White House Lawyer. Authoritative. Straight forward.
  • Bill Bernbach – 50s to 60s. Caucasian. Creative Director and partner in Advertising agency. The boss. Trusts his team but draws the final line.
  • Sid Myers – 30s to early 40s. Caucasian. Art Director.  Bossy. Pushes buttons.
  • Aaron Ehrlich – 30s to 40s. Caucasian. Television producer.  Married. Nervous. Worried about the A bomb.
