Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have the intriguing, thrilling, riotous and unmissable comedy. The show hurtles a notorious fugitive and a spellbound blonde from a London music hall north by northwest to Scotland’s most remote highlands. Will they save Britain from a den of devious spies? This is a fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure.
One actor plays the hero, Richard Hannay, one actress plays the three women with whom he has romantic entanglements, and two other actors, identified only as Clown 1 and Clown 2, play every other character in the show: heroes, villains, men, women and even the occasional inanimate object.
This requires true skill, facility with multiple dialects (and genders), lightning fast quick-changes, and, occasionally, the ability to play multiple characters at the same time or within the same scene.
- RICHARD HANNAY……….male, age late 30’s to early 40’s.
- ANABELLA SCHMIDT / PAMELA / MARGARET……….female; age 25-35; German, Scottish, and English dialects.
- CLOWN ONE……….any adult age range; Standard/RP English, North of England, Scottish, and German dialects.
- CLOWN TWO……….any adult age range; Standard/RP English, North of England, Scottish, and German dialects.
