  • Monday, August 7, 2017 @ 7-9 PM
Callbacks on Wednesday, August 9th, if needed

Performance Dates: December 1-3 and 7-9, 2017

Auditions will be held at:
The Village Players of Fort Thomas
8 N Ft. Thomas Ave
Fort Thomas, KY 41075

ABOUT THE SHOW
Tom and Annabel are a reasonably happy married couple. One evening they have an argument as to who loves the other most. A rough and tumble ensues, and Tom discovers to his horror that Annabel is dead. So starts a hectic evening of black humor which also involves Tom’s policeman friend and his literary agent. It seems no woman can enter the house without rapidly becoming deceased. Annabel’s mother and Tom’s appalling landlady soon follow and disposal of the bodies becomes an acute problem. The arrival of a police inspector complicates matters when a subsequent death involves him too. The hysterically funny ending finds the stage littered with female corpses, frantic males and a potential fifth victim banging on the door.

CAST REQUIREMENTS: Eight (8) actors – Four (4) men and four (4) women

  • Tom Bryce: A scatty middle-aged playwright, somewhat disaster-prone. Married Annabel after his first fiancée became a lesbian and the second a nun.
  • Annabel Bryce: Tom’s loving wife. Middle-aged, married once before.
  • Bert Hopkins: A common-sense local police constable, served with Tom in the army.
  • Mrs. Cartwright: Annabel’s mother, about eighty. Somewhat frail.
  • Bill Carlisle: Tom’s literary agent.
  • Mrs. Steward-Dubonnet: The Bryce’s landlady. An obnoxious, opinionated old…witch. Very prone to suing people.
  • Inspector: Just what you’d expect a British police inspector to be.
  • Isabel: Mrs. Cartwright’s companion. Older, and somewhat “dotty.”

AUDITIONS: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please bring resume, head shot, and known conflicts for the period between October 10th – November 30th, 2017.

Rehearsal schedule: Will be tailored to the roles: October 10-Nov 30. Willing to work around October performance schedules.
