Cincinnati Lab Theatre Announces Summer Workshop Production IDENTITY

CINCINNATI LAB THEATRE ANNOUNCES SUMMER WORKSHOP PRODUCTION OF
“IDENTITY – AN EVENING OF THREE TWENTY-MINUTE ORIGINAL PLAYS”

CLT_logo(Cincinnati, OH) Cincinnati LAB Theatre announces its Summer Workshop production of IDENTITY – An Evening of Three Twenty-minute Original Plays. Falcon Theatre once again is the presenting host of Cincinnati LAB Theatre at the Monmouth Theatre in Newport, KY.

Performances are August 13, 14, & 15, 2015, 8:00pm.

About the Cincinnati LAB Theatre Workshop Process
This year Cincinnati LAB Theatre’s challenge was to assemble three different creative teams to each produce a twenty-minute original play. Each team was directed to incorporate “Identity” as a theme and to use the recent US Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage as a major event in the story. Each creative team consists of a local Playwright & Director and a cast of up to three local actors. Some of Cincinnati’s finest talent has assembled for this workshop. Cincinnati LAB Theatre will present all three plays each performance and will conclude each evening with a post-show discussion of all of the pieces presented.

It’s a humorous confection divided into four parts: In Visitor from New York, Hannah, a magazine writer is joined by her ex-husband, the question being with whom should their daughter spend the next six months? The Visitor from Philadelphia is a wife who arrives at the suite, catching her husband “en flagrante delicto” with a drunken hooker. Visitors from London brings a British star as Academy Award nominee. Diana returns from the ceremony empty-handed to husband Sidney whose homosexuality will be no comfort tonight… The Visitors from Chicago are two couples ending a disastrous vacation they should not have shared.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Coming to the Arts Center at Dunham

CINCINNATI, OH – August 6, 2015 —  The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will offer a free family-friendly performance of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM at the Arts Center at Dunham (1945 Dunham Way Cincinnati, OH) on Saturday, August 15 at 2:00 pm. The performance is part of the 2015 FREE Shakespeare in the Park Tour.

Set in a traditional Elizabethan design with lush costuming for the fairies and Athenian lovers, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM by William Shakespeare shows what happens when feuding fairies meddle in the love lives of human couples. Comical adventures, mistaken identities, and a silly play-within-a –play are part of the mayhem that ensues. In this whimsical forest, a happy ending is guaranteed for both sprites and mortals alike.

Admission to Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s Shakespeare in the Park Tour is free. Reservations are not required but can be made online at www.sunsetplayers.org. Arriving early is recommended for best seating.  Special thanks to Kroger as the Community Sponsor.

The Arts Center at Dunham is a fine arts center for the west side of Cincinnati.
