The goal? All 30 original plays must be performed in 60 minutes, and the clock is ticking. The catch? The audience decides the order of the plays. The reward? If the actors meet their 60-minute deadline, they get to eat cookies. If they don’t meet it, they get to watch the audience eat the cookies.

In the Jerry Sandusky scandal, one figure remains the most enigmatic to the public, his wife, Dottie, or Sarge, as she was known. People tend to dismiss her as complicit, a liar, naive or delusional. SARGE , imagines her in three settings over the course of a year as the Sandusky scandal plays out.

America, 1770: The poor, the homeless, the debt-ridden rise up against their masters. America, 2014: Is there an app for that? A wandering blacksmith with Big Dreams transforms the citizens of a dying town into walking souvenirs of their Yankee-Doodle past, while his twerking tweaker of a kid channels the spirit of the religious fanatic who started the American Revolution. Corporate sponsors sought.

MATC’s THE STORY OF MY LIFE Recognized by LCT

MATC_The Story of My LifePanelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized lighting designer Denny Thomas and Scenic Designer Mary Slocum for their work on Mad Anthony Theatre’s production of THE STORY OF MY LIFE.

THE STORY OF MY LIFE is a moving musical that follows the friendship of Alvin and Thomas, two men from a small town. These lifelong friends are reunited after Alvin’s mysterious death. In the abstract world of his mind, Thomas struggles to write Alvin’s eulogy while recounting the many turns their lives have taken since meeting as children.

Panelists praised Mary Slocum’s set design, “a powerful all-white bookcase that was an effective backdrop for the action,” and the lighting director and operator, Denny Thomas, who “used his lights to dramatic effect.”

More information on the Mad Anthony Theatre Company can be found at http://www.fittoncenter.org.

League of Cincinnati Theatre panelists evaluate productions on a 5 star scale and recommend shows at either a 4 star or 5 star level. Nominations for LCT awards will be determined and announced at the end of the season and winners awarded at the annual LCT gala in the spring.
