Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s MEASURE FOR MEASURE as a recommended production.

In MEASURE FOR MEASURE, Isabella must choose between her vows to the church and the life of her brother when she is offered a truly indecent proposal- from the one man on a crusade against Vienna’s loose morality. Shakespeare puts hypocritical, ethical and religious double standards on trial in this captivating and deep examination of the value of virtue. Will Isabella trade her virtue for her brother’s life?

Panelists recommended the show for its strong performances, interesting staging and relevance to today’s society. “The Prohibition era twist on this piece was a lot of fun and worth the trip.”

MEASURE FOR MEASURE continues through May 26th. Tickets can be purchased at www.cincyshakes.com.
