Footlighters Seeking Directors for the 2014 – 2015 Season

FLI_logoThe Footlighters, Inc. is accepting submissions for directors for its 2014-2015 season. The Footlighters, Inc. was founded in 1963 and since 1987 has owned its own facility, The Stained Glass Theatre in Newport, Ky. It continually attracts outstanding talent for its productions, and has received local, state, and national awards for outstanding production quality, individual and ensemble performances, and technical achievements.

If you would like to be considered, please send the following information to Robert Weidle, Chairperson of the Director/Play Selection Committee, at rweidle@aol.com:

  • A one-page letter of interest briefly detailing 1-3 shows you are interested in directing.
  • A theater resume that includes your contact information.

The deadline to submit materials is Monday, September 30, 2013. Robert will contact interested directors by October 2 to schedule interviews. Interviews will take place October 7 & 8, 2013, at the Stained Glass Theatre. When you are selected for an interview, you will be asked to provide additional information on the shows you are interested in directing, including a budget projection.

We will be producing a four-show season for 2014-2015 to include 2 large-scale musicals, 1 smaller musical, and 1 non-musical comedy/drama. Exact show dates will be selected by the Board of Directors in October.

WIT Headshot Extravaganza, Nov. 2-10

All actors, directors, technicians, business people plan on updating your resume headshot during the first Annual Headshot Extravaganza on November 2, 3, 9, 10.

For only $75, you’ll get 5 headshots that will be available to you online through Mikki Schaffner’s studio. The occasion is sponsored by WIT (Women in Theatre) a local company of women dedicated to directing and performing works done by, for, and about women.

The location is our new theatre home on the top floor of the Fort Thomas Women’s Club building which also houses The Village Players on the bottom floor. Make your reservation for a 10 minute sitting by calling Donna Hoffman, Director of WIT, at 859-441-6882 beginning Monday, September 9. Slots will fill quickly so don’t dilly dally.

UCT Seeks Sound Designer

UCT_logoUnion Community Theatre is in search of a Sound Designer for their upcoming production of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. The role requires design working including microphones, sound effects, and some elements of digital musical underscoring. In addition, sound execution would be handled on the show dates December 5th-8th.

There is a small stipend paid for this position.

Creative Conversation: stART-ups on Oct. 21

CAA_ELNThe Cincy Emerging Arts Leaders is an extension of the Emerging Leaders Network of the Americans for the Arts and administered by the Cincinnati Arts Association. It supports the professional development needs of arts professionals in the Greater Cincinnati area. The group first met in October 2006 as part of the Creative Conversations series that Americans for the Arts sponsors annually.
