BACKGROUND:
Audiences raved about our sold out November, 2024, live radio broadcast of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ – so much so that the radio station, WBFR, will once again come to life with another beloved holiday classic – ‘A Christmas Carol’. We are an immersive theatre and look forward to building our next cast family.

ABOUT THE PLAY:  This is a story within a story that takes place in a run-down 1940s New York radio station. The radio station staff play the various parts of the characters in the story, ‘The Christmas Carol’.

ABOUT THE CAST:

Overview:  A minimum of 5 – 8 radio station staff actors will play the up to 32 character parts.  Since this is a radio show, actors with vocal quality, timbre, and flexibility to play multiple characters are a must.  British and Cockney’d accents will have coaching as needed.

The special roles of Ebeneezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley and Tiny Tim may be selected at the discretion of the Director to be played by one actor each as their sole acting part.

Musical abilities and/or ability to play an instrument are a plus.

Actor Sought for Role of Jeff in THE CURIOUS SAVAGE at The Lamplight Theater Company

The Lamplight Theater Company is seeking an immediate replacement (due to medical reasons) for the role of Jeffrey for its sophomore production of THE CURIOUS SAVAGE running June 13-29.

Jeffrey: Handsome young man of 25 (age in script, but will consider a wide age range), with the dignity of a much older man. He is a war veteran, and is convinced that his face is badly scarred, even though his scars are strictly mental. He is an accomplished piano player, but he keeps this secret to himself and never plays.

The show is directed by Pia Rader and produced by MaryBeth Davis, and Lamplight is building immersive theater experiences that extend beyond the stage and a supportive environment for growing artists. https://www.lamplighttheater.org/about-us-1

THE CURIOUS SAVAGE Runs June 13-29

THE CURIOUS SAVAGE
The Lamplight Theatre Company
June 13-29
Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church

Directed by Pia Rader
Produced by Mary Beth Davis

Mrs. Savage has been left ten million dollars by her late husband and wants to make the best use of it, in spite of her grown-up stepchildren’s efforts to use it for themselves. The stepchildren commit Mrs. Savage to The Cloisters, a sanatorium, hoping to “bring her to her senses.” At The Cloisters Mrs. Savage meets various social misfits, people who need the help Mrs. Savage can provide. Contrasting the kindness and loyalty of psychiatric patients with the avarice and vanity of “respectable” public figures, it calls into question conventional definitions of sanity while lampooning celebrity culture.
