Auditions Announced for THE GODS OF COMEDY at Sunset Players

SSP_logoThe Sunset Players announce auditions for their fall show THE GODS OF COMEDY by Ken Ludwig.

Directed by David Roth and Produced by John Wesseling

What’s the show about?

Daphne and Ralph are young  classics professors who have just made a discovery that’s sure to turn them into academic superstars. But something goes disastrously wrong and Daphne cries out in panic, “Save me, gods of ancient Greece”!!… and the gods actually appear! The Ivy league will never be the same as a pair of screwball deities encounters the carnal complexity of college coeds, campus capers, and conspicuous consumption.

Cast Announced for SOUTHERN FRIED NUPTIALS at Sunset Players

SSP_logoThe cast includes:

  • Marianne Adae as Harlene Frye
  • Brandon Woodward as Atticus “Attie” Van Leer
  • Becky Cole as Dorothy Frye
  • Madison Dilk as Sammy Jo Frye-LeFette
  • Maxwell Woeber as Dewey Frye Jr

Harlene Frye is going to marry her childhood sweetheart this weekend . . . assuming the typical Frye family hijinks don’t derail the wedding! Harlene and Attie’s future together is threatened when the bride-to-be’s awful ex-flame shows up with information she doesn’t want her fiancé to find out. And Harlene’s not the only Frye keeping secrets: Sammy Jo refuses to tell her family she’s moving even though all her bags are already packed. As if that isn’t enough, Dewey can’t figure out why people keep asking him to give his sister away, and busybody Ozella Meeks has somehow ended up as the wedding coordinator. Will the Fryes be able to get Harlene down the aisle in one piece? A bighearted comedy about family—Southern-style.

Directed by Dan Hawkins, performances run May 10-18 at the Arts Center at Dunham.
