The whole town has been without power for weeks. So today, Christmas Eve, a lot is going on. Electricity will be turned on, there is a ceremony to honor Uncle Cletus (of all people) for bravery. The Christmas show which was canceled at the school is being performed here. Crazy Captain Aunt Addie is putting on a wildlife show with her “triplets” and a some unexpected guests also drop by. All the while, Bo Dupree is lost at sea and hopefully Aunt Maddie won’t put a curse on the whole thing. God help us!

  • Tuesday, October 4th at 6:30 pm

The Arts Center at Dunham.
(Casting will be limited to young actors ages 8-18)

The cast consists of 16-27 roles. Crew members and set builders are also needed. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Actors must be able to read.

Auditions will consist of reading selections from the script.

As this show takes place during the school year, and during the holiday season, rehearsals are kept as short and few as possible and will be based upon the availability of those auditioning. Please be prepared to supply a list of any known conflicts from October through the close of the production.

Young Adult Actor Needed for SOUTHERN FRIED NUPTIALS at Sunset Players

SSP_logoSunset Players seeks a 20s to 30s male for a role in our October regional premiere of SOUTHERN FRIED NUPTIALS.

The play takes place in present day Mississippi where Harlene Frye is going to marry her childhood sweetheart this weekend . . . assuming the typical Frye family hijinks don’t derail the wedding! Harlene and Attie’s future together is threatened when the bride-to-be’s awful ex-flame shows up with information she doesn’t want her fiancé finding out. And Harlene’s not the only Frye keeping secrets: Sammy Jo refuses to tell her family she’s moving even though all her bags are already packed. As if that isn’t enough, Dewey can’t figure out why people keep on asking him to give his sister away and busybody Ozella Meeks has somehow ended up as the wedding coordinator. Will the Fryes be able to get Harlene down the aisle in one piece? A bighearted comedy about family—Southern-style.

The actor will fill the role of either Harlene’s fiancé or her brother-in-law. Rehearsals start soon and this role needs to be filled this week.

Please contact danhawkins66@gmail.com for an appointment to audition.
