Auditions Announced for Young Performers for FOR GOOD: A Benefit Concert at Equality Productions

EP_logoEquality Productions announces auditions for their virtual concert: FOR GOOD: A Benefit Concert for Greater Cincinnati Community Theaters. The concert will encourage viewers to donate directly to local community theaters. See one of the concerts here: https://youtu.be/JU5jI8YhWUM.

Young performers aged 8 – 18 are welcome to submit an audition video singing a Broadway song with a live or recorded accompaniment. One of the young performer’s parents would email the video and include the young performer’s name, age, and theater resume to equalityproductionscincy@gmail.com by June 20.

An email will additional information will be sent once the audition email is received. Thanks for considering lending your voice to raise money for theaters!

Directors Sought for Female-Focused Online Plays at Equality Productions

EP_logoEquality Productions in Cincinnati seeks applications from directors for their virtual productions to broadcast July through September:

  • A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART TWO by Lucas Hnath
  • HEDDA GABLER by Henrik Ibsen
  • THE REVOLUTIONISTS by Lauren Gunderson

Optionally, the director can recommend one other play that s/he would like to direct that would work well in a Zoom-like environment.

Interested directors can send their theater director resume and their first and/or second choices of plays to equalityproductionscincy@gmail.com by June 15th.

Directors throughout Ohio have been invited to apply. Acting talent throughout Ohio will be invited to audition.

FOR GOOD: A Concert Benefiting the Greater Cincinnati Theatre Community Available May 29 from Equality Productions

EP_For Good logoBeginning Friday, May 29th at 7pm, you can spend time enjoying FOR GOOD: A Concert Benefiting the Greater Cincinnati Theatre Community.

It is the first of several concerts presented by Equality Productions. It’s free to watch and encourages viewers to donate to local theaters to sustain them during the pandemic.

Enjoy the musical talents of Sarah Viola, Katelyn Reid, Ethan Baker, Cammi Caldwell, and Jackie Miesle with songs from THE SOUND OF MUSIC, LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL, CHILDREN OF EDEN, and FLY BY NIGHT.

Casts Announced for GOD OF CARNAGE at Equality Productions

EP_logoEquality Productions proudly announces the casts for GOD OF CARNAGE.

This cast’s performance is expected to be available online Saturday, May 23 for one day only.

  • Annette – Katie Jensen
  • Michael – Evan Blanton
  • Veronica – Traci Taylor

This cast’s performance is expected to be available online Sunday, May 24 for one day only.

  • Alan – Chris Bishop
  • Annette – Heather Abbott
  • Michael – Darren Lee
  • Veronica – Linda Callahan

The play by Yasmina Reza (Art) won the Tony Award for Best Play and runs about 90 minutes. Note there is an advisory of Strong Language. The comedy’s inciting incident is a playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys, which brings together two sets of parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the alcohol flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their principles in tatters..

Per the agreement with the play publisher, patrons need to purchase tickets to view the shows online. In light of the country’s economic situation, we offer PAY WHAT YOU CAN tickets. The suggested donation is $10 per viewing, which you would donate directly to a Greater Cincinnati community theater of your choice.

Submissions Sought for MONOLOGUES ABOUT RESILIENCE at Equality Productions

EP_logoEquality Productions invites playwrights to submit monologues with the theme of Resilience. Let your voice be heard. Write an engaging story then watch it come to life online. What a great way to have your words be seen by a wide audience.

The monologues should be written so they can be performed in two to five minutes. Plays are to be submitted in standard playwright format and saved as a PDF without any identifying information (i.e., anonymously) to richardjoseph@gmail.com by May 20.

There is a limit of two submitted monologues per person. A selection committee will choose the monologues to be performed. Local actors will perform them and they will be posted online.

This event, like Equality Production’s previous events, will be a fundraiser for Greater Cincinnati community theaters.
