Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage all chapter leadership activity including finding and growing leaders, operational structure and governance support, and providing day-to-day support for leaders and all chapter events.
  • Visit, seek to understand, and connect with chapter directors’ goals, opportunities, and challenges; develop and implement solutions to support their goals.
  • Assist chapter leadership in financial management, bench building and succession planning.
  • Develop and implement leadership training for Chapter volunteers including but not limited to the Annual Leadership Summit and student leadership course.
  • Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to develop and establish new chapters and to increase membership footprint.
  • Develop, manage and implement the Student Leadership program (national and chapter level).
  • Manage annual budget development for department and monitor performance to meet monthly budget objectives.
  • Build and implement goals and objectives for Chapter Relations by evaluating accomplishments, challenges, outcomes, opportunities, trends, and best practices, in driving EdTA’s mission, vision and strategic goals.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Theatre, Education or related field.  Theatre and/or theatre education background is a plus.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 + years’ professional experience, with particular focus in leadership development, client service, or chapter/member relations.
  • Experience leading and training volunteers, preferable in a non-profit setting.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operations model.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent customer interface, service and relationship building skills to establish effective working relationships with internal and external constituencies.·
  • Ability to travel to chapter events, including weekends, up to 40% of the time.·
  • Job location:  Onsite in Cincinnati preferred.  May consider remote for strong candidate

Finance Director

EdTA is seeking an experienced Finance Director.  Responsibilities include financial reporting and analysis, investment review, cash management, budgeting and audit processes, and managing two direct reports.  This position requires a hands-on strategic thinker grow our financially successful association.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide status of financial condition by interpreting and reporting key financial statement data and provide forward-looking insight to leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems and controls for all activity.
  • Develop, implement and report best financial policies and practices within board policies.
  • Direct budgeting process and implement budget plans.
  • Conduct fiscal year closing, coordinate audits, and ensure proper tax return filings.
  • Develop financial structure and processes to support the vision of our Foundation.
  • Partner with functional leaders on financial strategy and decision-making including pricing strategy, cost savings, and revenue growth.
  • Partner with Executive Director and COO in preparing monitoring reports for Governing Board.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7-10 years’ experience including financial accounting controls, processes and procedures, and management of small staff, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and practices as relates to non-profit organizations.

Chief Content Officer

EdTA seeks a highly-skilled executive level leader to serve as Chief Content Officer, directing our Education & Content team.  The position requires a strong manager and systems thinker—integrating multiple departments to create a dynamic, synchronous operation that will result in increased member engagement, strategic marketing and communications, and national brand recognition.  Individual will oversee five business lines, including 4 direct reports at Director level and a team of 14 staff:

  • Education and Professional Development
  • Educational Conferences & Events
  • Educational Policy and Advocacy
  • Publishing, Print & Digital
  • Marketing & Communications

Responsibilities:

  • Grow and optimize educational and professional development offerings to meet evolving member needs through the drive to certification, online education, and adopting standards in education.
  • Provide strategic direction to educational conferences and events; maximize participation, satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage and integrate content development to maximize value across all channels—online learning, face-to-face, print and digital publications, website.
  • Drive EdTA’s expertise and reputation, enhancing performance and positioning of the brand.
  • Provide strategic direction, oversight to brand advancement activities including logo/mark, marketing collateral, and publications. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years senior management experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in one or more functional areas: program design/implementation, online education, event management, digital and print publications, and marketing & communications

Job Responsibilities:

Developing Educational Programming

  1. Work with staff, subject matter experts, members, vendors and consultants to develop, implement, and maintain learning solutions that provide member value in all career stages.
  2. Research, select, and modify existing training curriculum, content, materials, job aids, etc. to meet learning needs of members.
  3. Review educational offering evaluations and make recommendations for program enhancements. Ensure that course content is up to date and platforms are functioning properly.
  4. Identify subject matter experts to lead educational programs on relevant topics.
  5. Participate in content development team meetings to discuss projects, collaborate with staff, and ensure initiatives are in alignment with overall Association strategy
  6. Work with online course partner(s) in the successful development, and implementation of educational offerings on relevant topics.

Managing Educational Programming

  1. Execute all phases of in-person and virtual education program planning, which includes third-party content development, logistics, and project management of budgets and timelines.
  2. Analyze workshop/conference session attendee data, membership surveys, social media posts, etc. and make educational (webinars, workshops, on-line program) recommendations
  3. Support implementation timelines and maintenance plans for products and resources.
  4. Create, implement and monitor revenue and expenditures associated with educational offerings in accordance with established fiscal policies.
  5. Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and/or technical partner relationships, provide learning content expertise and support to resolve customer and course issues.
  6. Create curriculum within the LMS, schedule pre-call rehearsals, monitor webinar chats, manage webinar schedule, and develop outcome reports.
  7. Interface successfully with members, vendors, consultants, staff, and registrants and demonstrate outstanding customer service skills.
  8. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications and Publications to promote educational offerings and identify cross-promotional/informational content.

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. Theatre education/experience preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with particular experience in curriculum development, online course development and web-based teaching.
  • Strong project and process management skills. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for details under sometimes aggressive timelines.
  • Strong business acumen as well as organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to interact well with program/course leaders, departmental colleagues, current and future members, and volunteers.
  • Ability to utilize multi-media applications and e-learning development tools.
  • Ability to apply adult learning theory and curriculum development is a plus.
  • Passion for adult education and/or creating innovative learning experiences is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of business and technology applications that support member engagement. Ability to learn new software applications with relative ease.

Position Summary:  EdTA seeks a Membership Service Specialist to work high school and middle school teachers who are starting and managing their student honor society, providing member support, and sharing actionable information with departmental leadership.

Job Description:

The Membership Service Specialist supports the Membership team in meeting the various needs of the department.  Success in the role requires the ability to build relationships with professional members, staff and volunteers, an affinity toward data management, research, and some amount of transactional account management.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Consults daily as an expert-level source for membership and troupe management assistance via phone and email. Requires extensive knowledge of organizational policies, guidelines, handbooks, and Association activities.
  2. Answers inquiries and provides professional, prompt, courteous, complete service. Provides equal service with respect to email, telephone, and other communication modalities with the Association.
  3. Serves as an expert, via phone and email, for navigation and use of the Association’s website. Develops expert-level knowledge of all areas and content of the website.
  4. Responsible for checking, monitoring, maintaining, and clearing the Association’s automated telephone system. Routes inbound calls to relevant Association staff.
  5. Outreach to prospective members to answer questions, recruit and encourage membership.
  6. Accurately and promptly enters dues, registration, accounts receivable, subscription, merchandise order and other transactions to the association management system (AMS)..
  7. Assists with billing, mailings, information requests, and related member retention processes..
  8. Reviews web transactions submitted to the Association website.
  9. Maintains Association data and records according to established procedures and standards. Includes creating and updating records, record management, contact and activity recording, filing, etc.
  10. Fulfills membership purchases and orders (printing membership cards, certificates, etc.) daily.
  11. Serve as backup to the Inventory and Shipping Coordinator for daily shipping and mail procedures.
  12. Performs other duties, as assigned.

Related Considerations

  • May be asked to travel, occasionally, on behalf of the Association.
  • Vacation time is not permitted annually from April 15 – May 31.
  • Some overtime may be required annually from April 15 – May 31.

Education Required:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Affinity toward and experience with customer service roles.
  • High detail orientation.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Word and Outlook. At least basic skill with MS Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

Summary

EdTA seeks a detail oriented resource to support the administration of the registration process for the International Thespian Festival.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support the processing of more than 4000 event registrations.
  • Confirm that all documents related to more than 4000 program registrants are complete and accurate.
  • Manage aspects of the event registration help-desk, fielding calls and questions, to ensure that each registrant is properly registered and prepared to attend the event.
