2020-2021 Season Update from Troy Civic Theatre

TROY_logoImportant Season Update:

The TCT board of directors met this weekend. After contacting Governor DeWine’s office, the Ohio Dept of Health, and the Miami County Dept of Health, we have NOT been given the authorization to continue with our current plans.

After much deliberation, the board has decided to postpone THE HALLELUJAH GIRLS until (tentatively) January 2021. If allowed to reopen at that time, we will continue with FARCE OF HABIT in March 2021, and will present DADDY’S DYIN’, WHO’S GOT THE WILL in May 2021.

The anticipated productions of THE TIN WOMAN and BONNIE AND CLYDE will be planned for the 2021-22 season.

Thank you for your continued support and patience during these trying times. Our ticketing, program, and patron committees will be in touch with how you can continue to support us.

Stay safe. We look forward to entertaining you in the near future!

Performances Cancelled Until 2021 at CenterStage Players

CSP_logoCenterStage Players regrets to announce the postponement of their first two shows of the 2020/21 season. Our original schedule planned to feature ‘Momus & Aphrodite’ in September followed by ‘Macbeth’ in November.

Due to the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must postpone these two productions until further notice. Our board members, tech personnel, and actors would like nothing more than to be back on stage in early 2021, but we also want to ensure we are taking the proper precautions that allow our patrons to return to the theatre in confidence.

Keep following us via Facebook as well as our website for updates to our season. We will also be revisiting some of our past productions over the next few months. Thanks for your understanding, your continued support, and we sincerely hope you are all staying safe during this difficult time.

2020-2021 Season Updated at Mariemont Players

MPI_logo 2020As we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking all government and public health official recommendations into consideration.

Based on the current status and projections for the coming months, the MPI Board of Directors has decided to postpone our September production of THE OUTSIDER and our November production of THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO. Although it saddens us to delay the opening of these two shows, both productions will be moved to our 2021-2022 season and we are so excited to bring these shows to life the way they deserve to be!

If possible, EARTH AND SKY which was cancelled at the beginning of the pandemic will be produced in January 2021.

It has been so difficult to continue putting live theater on hold the last 5 months, but we remain committed to keeping everyone who enters our theater safe and well so that, when it is safe to return, we can do so stronger than ever.

Regarding season ticket subscriptions:
Because of the uncertainty surrounding when live theater will be safe to resume, the Board of Directors has decided not to sell season ticket subscriptions for the 2020-2021 season. Instead, we will sell tickets on a show-by-show basis, giving priority/presale opportunities to last season’s subscribers. Depending on when we are able to produce shows again, we may also sell a reduced subscription package, which will be based on the number of shows our 2020-2021 season produces.

The Board of Directors will decide, two months before a show’s scheduled opening, whether or not the show will be produced, and make announcements accordingly.

Please check our website, www.mariemontplayers.com, or our Facebook page (Mariemont Players Inc.) for the most current information and updates.

Thank you for being part of our community. We miss you, and we look forward to seeing you at MPI as soon as it is safe to do so.

ASSASSINS Cancelled at Lebanon Theatre Company

LTC_logoWe regret to announce that due to the challenges presented by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, and in light of ongoing restrictions placed upon performance theaters by the State of Ohio, we will be unable to present ASSASSINS in a way that would be safe for the health of our cast, crew, and audience. We know that this decision weighs especially heavily on our cast and crew who were so looking forward to producing this wonderful show, and we cannot thank them enough for their hard work and dedication.

The current environment is especially challenging for LTC and all theatres around the area as we grapple with how to continue fulfilling our mission to present quality theatre to our community while ensuring audience and cast safety and compliance with the law. Unfortunately, there is still a great deal of uncertainty around when we will be able to return to normal operations, if ever. The LTC board of directors is committed to finding a way for LTC to survive and adapt to this “new normal” and find new and innovative ways to deliver theatrical entertainment and education to the community.

We want to be fully transparent at this time: this current climate presents a serious financial challenge for LTC, as we rely heavily on ticket revenue to maintain our operations. The historical generosity of our patrons and prudent financial management by our Board has allowed us to build a rainy day fund to weather difficult periods like this, but should this pandemic persist for several more months, the viability of LTC as an institution will be in serious jeopardy without significant public support.

Thank you as always for your support, especially during these very challenging times. And most importantly, stay safe, stay healthy, and help keep your community healthy.
