(Cincinnati, OH) – Cincinnati Music Theatre, a resident Company of the Aronoff Center, returns to the Aronoff’s intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater with seven performances of the Tony Award-nominated SISTER ACT, playing November 10-18, 2017.

Tickets are $26.00 for adults and $23.00 for students, seniors, military, and groups of 15 or more, and may be purchased at www.Cincinnatimusictheatre.orgwww.CincinnatiArts.org, the Aronoff Center Ticket Office, or (513) 621-ARTS [2787].

Original music written by Tony- and eight-time Oscar-winner Alan Menken (NewsiesBeauty and the BeastLittle Shop of Horrors) will have you singing WITH the nuns. “It is a smart adaptation of a beloved film with fantastic disco music,” said Mike Fielder, director and choreographer of the musical. “The first time I heard the music from SISTER ACT I knew I had to bring it to life in Cincinnati.”

Cincinnati Music Theatre’s production of SISTER ACT is just another example of how Cincinnati’s community theatre scene is booming and attracting top talent. Adia Dobbins (Deloris) played the role of Nala in the West Coast tour of Disney’s The Lion King. Dobbins is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and has performed for other theater groups in Cincinnati, but this is her biggest role yet. “Deloris is full of energy, and I hope the audience will connect with her charisma in some way,” said Dobbins. The audience can expect a powerhouse voice from Dobbins that brings the entire talented cast of SISTER ACT together in sisterhood.

Featuring original music by Tony-and eight-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.
