Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized lead actor Matt Dentino, choreographer Kate Glasheen, and costume designer Caren Young for their contributions to Covedale Center for the Performing Arts WILL ROGERS FOLLIES.

WILL ROGERS FOLLIES is the Tony award winning musical that chronicles the life of Will Rogers, one of America’s most beloved humorists, entertainers, and pundits, who captivated the country with his common sense wisdom.

Panelists were enamored of Matt Dentino’s performance as Will Rogers: “Matt Dentino delivers as the homespun, nonchalant and witty title character…full of charm and talent…He made me believe he WAS Rogers.” Of Caren Young’s costume design, panelists wrote: “Lavish designs with thoughtful color coordination…This was supposed to be a Ziegfeld Follies, and the costumes for the 13-member chorus measured up. The variety was impressive.” Finally, Kate Glasheen’s choreography was highly praised: “fast-paced, complicated, and perfectly executed.”

WILL ROGERS FOLLIES runs through August 31st. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.cincinnatilandmarkproductions.com.

WFIT_buildingCincinnati’s Newest Performing Venue Scheduled to Open June 3, 2015

When the chorus sings the first line of THE PRODUCERS – “Opening night, it’s opening night!” –  on June 3, 2015 at the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater, it will be true and historic on multiple levels.

Cincinnati Landmark Productions announced today the grand opening date and the premiere Summer Classics Season at the region’s newest performing arts venue.

The 2015 Summer Classics Season, presented by TriHealth, includes:

  • THE PRODUCERS, June 3-21
  • 1776, July 8-26
  • 9 to 5, August 12-30

“I look forward to adding this sensational new venue to the Cincinnati performing arts landscape,” said Tim Perrino, executive artistic director of Cincinnati Landmark Productions. “This line up is the perfect summer-stock slate of great musicals, sure to bring thousands of people to this inaugural season and to the exciting Incline District. More than ever, this really is a neighborhood on the rise.”

The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater will be a brand new, purpose-built, 220-seat performing arts center and parking garage in the Incline District in East Price Hill. Located at the corner of Matson Place and West 8th Street, the $6 million project is slated to break ground in the coming weeks.

Subscriptions for the premiere Summer Classics Season – only $63 – go on sale to the public on November 3, 2014. Two special pre-sale opportunities will be available for 2014 Summer Classic Season subscribers and 2014-15 Covedale Center subscribers. Information for pre-sales will be mailed directly to those subscribers in advance of the on-sale date.

The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater will be programmed year-round by Cincinnati Landmark Productions, culminating in over 120 show nights. In addition to the Summer Classics Season, which will expand to four productions in future years, the venue will host a four-show Main Stage subscription season (September to May) designed to complement the Main Stage season at the Covedale Center, as well as one-night concerts, comedy events and cabarets. Information on those seasons will be announced in the coming months.

“We want to particularly thank TriHealth for its Summer Classic Season support,” Perrino said. “Having such an important community partner in the first season will help make the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater a success right out of the gate.”

Funding for the new theater/garage was provided by: New Market Tax Credit allocations from Cincinnati Development Fund and PNC, an economic development grant from the City of Cincinnati, capital funding from the State of Ohio, and private support from Warsaw Federal, Doug Ridenour, KB Partners LLC, The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, the John A. Schroth Family Charitable Trust, Diane and Tom Brunst, the Otto M. Budig Family Foundation and many others.

Cincinnati Landmark Productions has been serving the West Side for over 30 years – first through its Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre program and then through its ownership and management of the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts in West Price Hill. Since opening in 2002, the arts center quadrupled its subscribership. Attendance ballooned from 13,990 in the 2002-03 season to over 37,000 (representing 336 zip codes) in the 2013-14 season.

Donor programs and sponsorships for the new venue are still available. For more information about the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater, call (513) 241-6550.
