’Tis the season to celebrate as A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage brings holiday cheer to Cincinnati! This brand new touring production of A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage by Charles M. Schulz features everyone’s favorite Peanuts gang – Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, Sally, and more, all led by the lovable Charlie Brown – as they discover the true meaning of Christmas. When Charlie Brown becomes discouraged by the materialism of the season, Lucy convinces him to direct the neighborhood Christmas play. In typical Charlie Brown fashion, things go awry when he selects a tiny fir tree for the production. It’s up to Linus to save the day and remind everyone of the real message of the holiday.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage, Schulz’s timeless story of the spirit of Christmas, showcases the unforgettable music of Vince Guaraldi, performed by a three-piece ensemble on stage, as well as a concert of beloved holiday carols led by the Peanuts characters.

Based on the popular Peanuts comic strip, the Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson became a holiday viewing tradition after it first aired in 1965. It was adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer, by special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson.

A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage is produced by Gershwin Entertainment. General management for Gershwin Entertainment is provided by Dhyana Colony/Colony Creative Group.

HENRY ROLLINS – TRAVEL SLIDESHOW | Thu., Sept. 20 | Music Hall Ballroom

CAA_Henry Rollins Travel Slideshow logo

CINCINNATI, OH – For many years Henry Rollins has taken photographs on his travels. Join Henry for an intimate evening on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Music Hall Ballroom as he shows many of his favorite pictures from Baghdad to Pyongyang.  Henry Rollins – Travel Slideshow Tour 2018 is part of Cincinnati Arts Association’s 2018-19 Presenting Season.

Tickets go on sale Friday, July 27 at 10:00 AM at www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center and Music Hall Ticket Offices. Group discount tickets for ten or more are available by calling (513) 977-4157.

Henry will present a special performance drawing on his experiences and his vast archive of photographs. “For many years, I have documented my travels all over the world with a camera. Never easy, but always worth it. The photos have stories behind them. I have selected several images, to show and talk about.”

As a keen observer, Henry will be sharing stories from journeys all over the world, including the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, South America, and Antarctica.

In describing Henry Rollins, the tendency is to try to squeeze as many labels as possible into a single sentence. “Rollins is many things,” says The Washington Post, “diatribist, confessor, provocateur, humorist, even motivational speaker…his is an enthusiastic and engaging chatter.” Entertainment Weekly’s list includes “Punk Rock icon. Spoken word poet. Actor. Author. DJ. Is there anything this guy can’t do?” TV Guide has more concisely called him a “Renaissance Man,” but if Henry Rollins could be reduced to a single word, that word would undoubtedly be “workaholic.”  When he’s not traveling, Henry prefers a to keep a relentless schedule full of work, with gigs as an actor, author, DJ, voice-over artist, and TV-show host, to name a few of the roles that keep his schedule full.

Henry has toured the world as a spoken word artist, as front man for both Rollins’ Band and Black Flag, and as a solitary traveler with an insatiable curiosity, favoring road-less-traveled locales in places such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Siberia, North Korea, South Sudan, and Iran.

Henry currently hosts a weekly radio show on L.A.’s renowned NPR affiliate KCRW, in addition to writing weekly columns for the LA Weekly and Rolling Stone Australia.
