Stage age of the roles is approximately 9-13.  Show Dates are May 13-15 and 19-21.

“The Amish Project” is a fictional exploration of the Nickel Mines schoolhouse shooting in an Amish community, and the path of forgiveness and compassion forged in its wake.  Please be advised that children in the ensemble would be on stage for the entire show and will be exposed to coarse language and intense subject matter.

If that hasn’t scared you off – please contact the Director (Karen Vanover) at karenmdv@aol.com or the Producer (Fred Hunt) at nwlsdhunt@fuse.net.

Who’s NOT Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

CSP_Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf logo2CenterStage Players – That’s Who!

Come see this award winning play which is seldom produced because of its difficulties.

A biting dark comedy and gut-wrenching psychological portrait of the breakdown of a marriage, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? has been a mainstay of American theater since winning the 1963 Tony Award for Best Play and the 1962–63 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play. Its stars won the 1963 Tony Awards for Best Actor and Actress as well. It was also selected for the 1963 Pulitzer Prize for Drama by that award’s drama jury. However, the award’s advisory board – the trustees of Columbia University – objected to the play’s then-controversial use of profanity and sexual themes, and overruled the award’s advisory committee, awarding no Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1963. It was later immortalized in a film adaptation starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

Written by the acclaimed Edward Albee, the story follows George and Martha, a middle-aged couple who invite a younger husband and wife over for drinks and, over the course of the evening, use their guests as pawns in increasingly cruel mind games, leading to a devastating revelation. Razor-sharp dialogue and incisive character portraits make Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? one for your theatrical bucket list.  Now Lynne Aronson directs a brilliant new production for CenterStage Players.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for Seniors/Students/Military and are available at www.centerstageplayersinc.com.

Show dates:  February 5, 6, 11, 12 & 13 at 8PM and February 7 at 3PM.

The Cast:

  • George – Bill Keeton
  • Martha – Julie Poux
  • Nick – Michael Gettinger
  • Honey – Kiya Fix

Don’t miss this production!  You may not be able to ever see it anywhere else!

CenterStage Players of Ohio
Feb. 5-13
North College Hill City Center

Directed by Lynne Aronson

Cast: Bill Keeton as George, Julie Poux as Martha, Michael Gettinger as Nick & Kiya Fix as Honey

This classic play is an emotional roller coaster between George, a college history professor and his wife Martha, daughter of the college president, and Nick, a new professor in the biology department and his wife, Honey. Illusion and reality are nebulous and never clear.

The morals and mores of the 1950s, wherein families consisted of husband, wife and two perfect children living in the suburbs, is questioned and exposed. Alcohol is used to self-medicate, and the mental stability of all of them is in question.
