KARENS: A Comedy of Very Bad Manners Available Feb. 26-28

WSUKARENS: A Comedy of Very Bad Manners
Wright State University
Feb. 26-28
[Online]

Directed by Bruce Cromer

Moliere’s comedy was social satire, with some comic stereotypes borrowed from Commedia del Arte; this hour-long look at the lunacies of our past year is in that vein, complete with iambic-pentameter-couplets and quarantines. Written as a contemporary verse drama, and riddled with up-to-the-minute references to politics, social media, gender identity, COVID and every other early-2021 crisis, KARENS brings Moliere’s biting satire and nimble linguistic wit to life for a new age. Free, donations welcome.

  • Available Fri-Sun, Feb. 26-28

PARALLEL WALLS Runs Online Feb. 19-21 at Cincinnati Lab Theatre

LAB_Parallel Walls logoLAB is excited to announce that our seventh season continues this February with a live-streamed staged reading of PARALLEL WALLS by Jeffrey K. Miller.

Directed by Elizabeth a. Harris. Starring: Aaron Epstein, Eric Kilpatrick, Adam Bass, Rachael Maye Aronoff, Linda Callahan, and Torie Pate.

A vicious hate crime involving three young men quickly casts victim and predator, but is there a greater shared victimhood? What is the media’s responsibility in skewing the narrative to fit a mold?

PARALLEL WALLS illuminates the complicated motivations of these men through the framework of contrasting family histories. It’s an exploration of masculinity, love, sexual stigma, and a great psychological paradox: do we build walls to keep others out, or to keep something in?

Join us on February 19th, 20th, and 21st 2021 at 7pm via zoom. Tickets will be available for purchase on Tikly’s website at: https://go.tikly.co/cincinnatilabtheatre
