Tri-County Players
April 21-29
Sharonville Cultural Arts Center

Directed by Charles Vaughan and Beth Smith

Cast: Elain Micheal as Letitia Blacklock, Monica Rudolph as Julia Simmons, Reva Schell as Dora Bunner (Bunny), Dan Nieman as Patrick Simmons, Sandy Schlueter as Mitzi, Betty Coulter as Mrs. Swettenham, Stephen Beck as Inspector Craddock, Fred Murrell as Sergean Mellors, Liv Milliron as Phillipa Haymes, Bonnie Froelich as Miss Marple & Tyrone Irving Burrow Jr as Edmond Swettenham

An announcement in the local paper states the time and place when a murder is to occur in Miss Blacklock’s Victorian house. The victim is not one of the house’s several occupants, but an unexpected and unknown visitor. What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death, a determined Inspector grimly following the twists and turns, and Miss Marple on hand to provide the final solution at some risk to herself in a dramatic confrontation just before the final curtain.

The best laid plans go awry when the cast and crew of a Broadway-bound play resort to manipulation, diva-like behavior, and chaotic abandon to get what they want. Fledgling playwright Jerry Przpezniak and his fiancée are a couple of Buffalo greenhorns suddenly swept up in the whirlwind of New York’s theater scene when Jerry’s play is optioned for the big money, ego-driven world of Broadway. It’s a young playwright’s dream, but the crazy characters and dilemmas they encounter are the things theatrical nightmares are made of.

One winter night a woman bakes a pie as a girl tries to finish her college essay. As the deadline looms, unexamined issues of the girl’s adoption from Russia, the rupture of her parents divorce, and the fear of leaving home break through the surface as the mother cajoles, deflects, and maneuvers around her own feelings of sadness and loss. Unfolding in real time, MEMORY HOUSE is about a young and an older woman who are forced to grapple with the past as they face an uncertain future. A funny and moving story about the complexity of living in the world today.
