THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG
Cincinnati Shakespeare Company
May 24-June 16
[Over-the-Rhine]

Cast: Geoffrey Warren Barnes* as John, Darnell Pierre Benjamin* as Trevor, Billy Chance* as Robert, Jared Earland as Crew Dude, Jeremy Dubin* as Chris, Candice Handy* as Annie, Matthew Lewis Johnson* as Max, Justin McCombs* as Dennis & Kelly Mengelkoch* as Sandra

It’s Opening Night at the Cornley Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor and the stakes have never been higher. But none of the on-stage drama is in the script! The theater is filled with accident-prone actors, a corpse that can’t play dead to save his life, and a knocked-out knock out of a leading lady. When all goes wrong, can this theater company make it to Opening Night and bring down the house (in a good way)? In this fantastic, farcical, fiasco of a show and Off-Broadway and West End comedic hit, the age-old adage is true: “the show must go wrong!” oops sorry, we mean “the show must go on!”

Produced by Dan Schindler

Cast: Nan Bongiani as Eddy, Lori Bowling as Imogene, Carla Browning as Nurse Pat, Bob Brunner as Sam, Diane Munich as Beatrice, Kayla Theis as Ruby Sue & Cathy Woodruff as Maude

Retired burlesque queen Beatrice Shelton desperately needs a vacation – and NOT another trip up to Helen, Georgia to see that “precious little German village for the umpteenth time.” A Sassy Seniors Cruise through the Caribbean may be just the ticket if she can just convince her best friend, Eaddy Mae Clayton, to stop praying and go with her. Unfortunately, things have not been very pleasant at Magnolia Place Assisted Living since Nurse Pat Jones began working there. A mystery unfolds with laughter as the gals try to outsmart the evil Nurse Pat Jones and figure out why so many residents have been moved to “the dark side,” what exactly IS that mysterious pill, and what happened to Doctor Head? If they can solve the mystery, they may make it to the cruise ship after all.
