This season marks the 50th anniversary of Cincinnati Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. No holiday is complete without a trip to the Land of Sweets! When a curious young girl named Clara receives a magical Nutcracker for Christmas, her dreams come to life. Joined by her Nutcracker Prince, Clara meets the Sugar Plum Fairy and a cast of colorful characters. With Tchaikovsky’s beloved score performed live by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

For a Christmas present the American heiress Ruth (VanAldren) Kettering is given the most coveted ruby in the world – the “Heart of Fire” – by her loving father. She then boards the famous Blue Train to meet a lover on the French Riviera. Enroute, she meets an English country girl possessing a fortune from a recent inheritance. The women leave behind an unfaithful husband, an industrialist father, and a host of other shadowy international figures with mysterious pasts. But when the Blue Train arrives in Nice, one of them is dead, and vacationing Hercule Poirot is drawn into service once again. On this train, no one is who they seem, and only Detective Poirot can disentangle the disguises and deceptions.

More music and dance added to this family-friendly story of holidays explained by pets left alone on Christmas Eve. Understanding Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and La Posada opens their eyes to possibilities other than a “visitor in red”.  They discover that humans may celebrate in different ways, but ultimately, we must “rescue” each other all year through.

CSC’s holiday smash hit Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) is back again for another season of holiday hilarity! What begins as another annual production of A Christmas Carol, soon devolves into a slightly irreverent (but undeniably adoring) look at all of your “Beloved Holiday Classics” including pop culture favorites like It’s a Wonderful Life, The Grinch, Rudolph, Charlie Brown and more! Add in topical references that always keep this annual tradition fresh and fun as we send up everything from Dickens to Dr. Seuss in an evening of high octane jollity and frivolity. Rated PG-13. Not recommended for any theatregoer who still believes in Santa.
