Tri-County Players announces auditions for its production of THE MISS MAGNOLIA SENIOR CITIZEN BEAUTY PAGEANT by Leslie Kimbell.

The ECAC is at the corner of Glendale-Milford Road and Reading Road, you can only enter via the North bound lane of Reading Road. Parking and entrance are at the rear of the building.

Characters available for audition
(Except for Lurleen Dupree, all are residents of the Magnolias Place Retirement Home)

• Beatrice Shelton – Sassy and salty senior citizen, a retired burlesque dancer
• Martha Parcell – A snooty senior citizen, the villain
• Hazel Dillard – A Christmas obsessed and squirrel loving octogenarian (could be played younger)
• Lurleen Dupree – Worn out and very weary pageant coordinator, stage age 35-50 (non-senior citizen)
• Sam Smith – A senior citizen, retired Elvis impersonator, reformed Casanova, and husband of Imogene
• Clovis Crown  -An awkward, nerdy senior citizen, a new resident of Magnolia Place

**Note – The roles of Eadie Mae Clayton, Imogene Fletcher, and Maude Jenkins have already been cast.

About the musical: Based on the best-selling novel, and developed by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World) and
Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman, The Bridges of Madison County captures the lyrical expanse of America’s heartland along with the yearning entangled in the eternal question, “What if…?” Winner of the 2014 Tony Award for Best Score and Orchestrations, this sweeping romance about the roads we travel, the doors we open and the bridges we dare to cross will leave audiences breathless.

Additional information: Please prepare no more than 32 bars that best show off your vocal abilities and bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. No acapella auditions will be accepted. There may be readings from the script, and there
will be no dance/movement call.

Supporting, Baritone. Francesca’s husband. An Iowa farmer, a good guy, diligent and dependable, but always exhausted and irritated that things haven’t gotten easier.

Michael Johnson—Male—16yo
Supporting, Tenor. Francesca and Bud’s son. A farm boy who REALLY wants to drive.

Carloyn Johnson—Female—Mid-teen
Supporting, Mezzo. Francesca and Bud’s daughter. About to show her award-winning steer at the state fair. Wants something more than Iowa.
