Musical Theatre Positions Open at Finneytown Secondary Campus

MISC_Finneytown Local School DistrictChoreographer

Position Description
Finneytown Secondary Campus is seeking a Choreographer for the upcoming high school musical theatre production. While the production has yet to be chosen, the ideal individual will be a collaborative creator who has previous experience in dance and/or movement, preferably in a formal environment as an instructor, coach, or teacher. The Choreographer should be prepared to choreograph a majority (if not all) dance numbers in the chosen production, with the possibility of assistance from the Director and/or a Student Dance Captain. When building movement for the show, the Choreographer should aim to challenge the students in the cast to grow while simultaneously being flexible enough to adapt planned choreography for individuals with little to no previous dance experience..

Rehearsals run from November 4th to January 23rd, with performances scheduled for January 24 & 25, 2020. Attendance at every rehearsal is not necessary, and the schedule is negotiable and flexible at this time. Furthermore, in lieu of weekly travel to Finneytown, the choreographer may opt to make specific hours of Teacher In-Service Rehearsal days Dance Intensive Hours, as well as provide videos of the choreography for the director to share with the cast. The previous season’s supplemental rate for this position was $840.00, with an additional $615.00 possible if the Choreographer is available to choreograph the Middle School’s production of Once on This Island, Jr. as well.

If you are interested in this position, please contact the Director Sawyer Shafer via email at SawyerAShafer@gmail.com. Submitting samples of previous work would be helpful, but is not necessary.
