Actor Needed for MADELINE’S CHRISTMAS at CenterStage Players

CSPOH_logoCenterStage Players, Inc. is looking for an actor for their upcoming production of MADELINE’S CHRISTMAS, a musical play based on the popular Madeline books for children by Ludwig Bemelman.

Role: Harsha – male, age flexible – The magical Rug Merchant who helps to make the twelve little girls’ Christmas wishes come true. Role includes a song, movement and simple, prepackaged magic tricks.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
MIRACLE ON 34th STREET: A Live Musical Radio Play
Adapted from the original 1947 LUX Radio Broadcast this “live radio play” complete with Foley effects and a score of holiday carols, Miracle on 34th Street  is a beloved musical that will melt even the most cynical of hearts. Our story begins as Doris Walker frantically recruits a last minute replacement for a drunken Santa for Macy’s Christmas parade. The man proves ideal for the job and for good reason – he says his name is Kris Kringle and that he’s the real Santa Claus. This tale takes us all the way to the Supreme Court where one little girl’s belief makes all the difference in this “Miracle.”

2019-20 Season Director Submissions Sought by Fairfield Footlighters

fflFairfield Footlighters is actively seeking Director submissions with Play suggestions for the 2019-2020 Season. Annual production dates are the last two weekends of September, mid two weekends of November, last two weekends of February, and last two weekends of May. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances take place at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, 411 Wessel Drive, 45014.

Please submit your directing resume, along with 1-2 titles of interest. For each title, include a brief synopsis, casting needs, and anticipated scene changes. Also include your 1st and 2nd choice for the production’s calendar slot.

Job Title: Finance Manager

Position Overview
The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations for the Playhouse, is a member of Senior Staff, and reports directly to the Artistic and Managing Directors. The Finance Manager is a full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations for the Playhouse including all accounting and cash management.
  • Maintain general ledger and permanent and restricted asset schedules.
  • Manage all internal and external financial reporting including monthly financial statements, annual statements for the audit, and all necessary grant proposal and reporting.
  • Work with Managing Director to create annual operating budget and monthly financial projections.
  • Establish and revise as necessary all accounting procedures.
  • Serve as the principal liaison for Endowment Fund managers.
  • Supervise one full-time finance associate and one full-time receptionist.
  • Provide oversight of the IT Department, supervision of one full-time IT employee, and serve as liaison with the outside managed services company.
  • Serve as staff representative on the Board’s Finance Committee and serve as principal liaison for the Board’s Audit Committee.
  • Responsible for gathering and reporting data for the annual audit.
  • Assist auditors in completion of the annual 990 return.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting or equivalent professional experience required, CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of finance experience in not-for-profit accounting required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook required.
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains Accounting, Tessitura, FRX, and Adaptive Insights preferred.
  • Must possess strong organizational and analytic skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects with competing demands while maintaining commitment to excellence.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements and exercise good judgment.
  • Experience with capital campaigns a plus.
  • An appreciation for the performing arts and theater in particular is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, and occasionally stoop or kneel.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • This position is partially sedentary, and the employee is required to regularly talk and hear.

Part-Time Floor Supervisors Sought by Cincinnati Arts Association

caa_logoThese part-time, Floor Supervisor positions will be stationed at both our Aronoff Center for the Arts and Music Hall locations.

Responsibilities:

  • General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing front-of-house functions in a designated quadrant for events and performances, while ensuring safety of patrons and providing exceptional customer service; supervising volunteer usher positions; completing reports after events; monitoring lobby activity; understanding and implementing emergency procedures.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate must be able to exercise sound judgment and make decisions under pressure. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional customer service skills; ability to work well with a diverse population is critical to this position. While performing the duties of this job, the Floor Supervisor is regularly required to stand and walk for periods of time. Ability to climb stairs essential. Ability to lift up to 35lbs. Prior supervisory experience is must. Familiarity with the public assembly setting, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); CPR/First Aid experience a plus. Must be available for a varied and flexible schedule; mostly nights and weekends.
