Auditions Announced for BURGERTOWN at Warsaw Federal Incline Theatre

Important Audition Information

  • You will be asked to read from the script(s).
  • Please prepare a song to sing for 32 measures in musical theatre style.
  • You will be taught a dance combination as well.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to audition.
  • MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition
  • A headshot/picture is appreciated.  Please bring a headshot and resume

CLP is actively seeking a diverse cast. Performers of all races and ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities and abilities are especially encouraged to audition and will be considered for all roles

No more than 2 conflicts will be accepted during the rehearsal process.

All roles are paid positions.  No Roles have been precast.

Cast members do not have to be the actual ages of the characters in any of the productions, but must be able to look age appropriate and act accordingly.

BURGERTOWN
July 9 – August 3, 2025

BurgerTown is a delicious musical comedy set in the Windy City. When Danny O’Riley, a timid fry cook accidentally invents the hottest new craze in the fast-food world; the Triangle Burger, he takes the humble BurgerTown diner from its lowly place beneath the tracks of the Fullerton train station to soaring new heights. Along the way, Danny encounters bad guys, big business, and beautiful women. While he struggles to hold onto his sanity as he chases his dreams for success, romance, and a fast-food fortune.

Roles include:

  • Danny O’Riley (20- 30ish)
    A young, inventive nerd. He works as a fry cook at the. BurgerTown restaurant. DANNY wants to be successful, but he doesn’t have a clue where to start. He is in love with JAN, but he only admires her from a distance. Once, in high school, DANNY tried to kiss a girl and was immediately struck with “hysterical lockjaw.” His dating life has only gone downhill since that event. However, DANNY is thoughtful, caring and kind.
  • Sal Spumoni (50+)
    The stringy and cranky owner of BurgerTown. SAL is old and grumpy. He has borrowed money from the mob to open his restaurant, and because of the lack of business, he is quite sure that his legs will be broken any day now. When asked which two men he admired most, SAL answered, “Ebenezer Scrooge and myself.”
  • JAN SOKOWSKI (20-30ish)
    A beautiful young waitress. JAN has worked at the BurgerTown restaurant since it opened, and for the last two years, she has been taking classes to become a dental hygienist. JAN is very sweet and has often found herself without train fare because she has given her money away to people on the street. JAN has a thing for DANNY, but she’s afraid to get too close. One time, she touched his hand while he was cooking, and he accidentally caught his apron on fire. JAN’s only goal in life is to be happy.
  • PATTY RAMONE (25-35ish)
    A sexy bombshell who wants to be number one. PATTY is hired by SPUMONI to be the BurgerTown restaurant mascot, Miss BurgerTown. PATTY began her climb to the top as a stripper, where she was best known for the use of balloons and a live badger. After her badger was hit by a Winnebago, she got into beauty pageants and calendars. Nothing has ever stopped her from trying to achieve her dream of becoming the “wealthiest woman in the world.” Her preference is to reach her goal wearing all her clothing.

Mariemont Players, Inc. is pleased to announce auditions for our production of THE SIGN IN SIDNEY BRUSTEIN’S WINDOWa play by Lorraine Hansberry.

Audition Requirements:

  • Note for Iris and Sidney, those auditioning can choose either monologue to prepare. Actors do not need to come in off book, but having an understanding of the character and material is valued.
    • If auditioning for the role of Sidney please indicate whether or not you can play a musical instrument on your audition form. 
  • Please bring a theatrical resume. Headshots are appreciated, but not required.

Rehearsal times: Rehearsals will begin the week of May 19th and run through the opening with rehearsals taking place over the summer months. we fully expect there to be vacation plans and other requests off and will organize the rehearsal calendar with what works best for cast and crew alike.

Synopsis: Lorraine Hansberry’s second Broadway play is the probing, hilarious and provocative story of Sidney, a disenchanted Greenwich Village intellectual, his wife Iris, an aspiring actress, and their colorful circle of friends and relations. Set against the turmoil of a stormy 1964 political campaign, the play follows its characters in their unorthodox quests for meaningful lives in an age of corruption, alienation and cynicism. With compassion, humor and poignancy, the author examines questions of morality, ethics, interracial relationships, drugs, rebellion, conformity, global responsibility and the fragility of love.

Auditions Announced for VISIONS OF US Cabaret at SingOUT Cincy

Audition for SingOUT Cincy’s second annual Visions of Us Cabaret! Auditions will take place on Saturday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 28 at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center (3412 Clifton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220).

VISIONS OF US: Songs of Queer Representation is a celebration of the songs and media that make us feel seen.

Please prepare 1 to 2 complete songs that fit your understanding of representation and visions of the LGBTQIA+ community. Bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. Self-accompaniment is also welcome (piano, guitar, bring us whatever you’ve got)! No tracks, please.

Video submissions will also be considered. Please email singout@singoutcincy.com if the audition dates don’t work for you and you’d like to submit video audition materials.

Singers will be paid $100 for rehearsals leading up to Cabaret, one dress rehearsal on March 20, and the performance of 2-3 songs aligned with the theme. VISIONS OF US is on Friday, March 21 at 7:30pm at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center.

Performers must be 18+.

Auditions Announced for NIGHT WATCH at Brookville Community Theatre

Heiress Elaine Wheeler is haunted by the horrific memory of her first husband’s affair and death, both of which she discovered at the same time. Afflicted with lifelong insomnia and aimlessly wandering her New York City townhouse one night, she sees something horrific in the building across the street. But nobody can find any evidence that what she saw actually happened. Her tender husband John and best friend Blanche try to convince Elaine that she is letting her nerves get the best of her, but the eccentric neighbor Appleby and testy German maid Helga start to hint that what is going on may not be what it seems. Lucille Fletcher’s NIGHT WATCH is equal parts film noir and psychological thriller with a gripping lead role for a strong female actor.

Auditions Announced for BLITHE SPIRIT at Mason Community Players

Auditions for Blithe Spirit, the second show of Mason Community Players’ 2025 Season, will be on January 25th and 26th, from 2pm to 5pm at the Mason Community Playhouse.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

The show is set in the mid-1930’s in England. Accents are not required for auditions but a willingness to learn for the show is needed. An accent coach will be part of the show’s crew.

A smash comedy hit, this much-revived classic concerns cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine who has remarried but finds himself haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, Elvira, who is called up by a visiting medium, the eccentric Madame Arcati. Clever, insistent, and well aware of Charles’ shortcomings, Elvira clashes with Charles’ current wife, Ruth, who is not about to give him up without a fight creating a ghostly affair of the heart

The characters include:
Edith – a maid in training, eager to please, age: 20+
Ruth – Charles’ current wife, practical and sensible, age: 40+
Charles – Writer, husband to Ruth and, before her death, Elvira, egotistical and arrogant, age: 40+
Dr. Bradman – Friend and family doctor, kindly, age: 40+
Mrs. Bradman – Dr. Bradman’s wife, friend, kind but thoughtless, age: 40+
Madame Arcati – Psychic, confident and determined, age: 40+
Elvira – Charles’ deceased first wife, physically attractive and seductive, age: 30+

Blithe Spirit  will be presented April 25th through May 3rd. The show is being directed by Susan Berger, produced by Eric Grimm, and stage managed by Dana Davis.
