Cincinnati Ballet Holds Young Performer Auditions for THE NUTCRACKER

CINCINNATI. (August 1, 2017) Young performer auditions for Frisch’s Big Boy Presents THE NUTCRACKER will take place throughout the day Saturday, August 19 and call back auditions Sunday, August 20 at The Cincinnati Ballet Center, located at 1555 Central Parkway. Now in its 43rd annual production, the timeless holiday tradition runs December 14 through 24 at the newly renovated and historic Music Hall.

Cincinnati Ballet’s THE NUTCRACKER will include approximately 70 young dancers this season. Eligible dancers between the ages of eight and 18 are invited to audition for various roles. Children will be auditioned for roles within their size range. Parts available include Clara, Poodle, Fritz, Party Kids, Baby Mice, Snowballs, Soldiers, Cupcakes, and Chicks.

Auditions begin at 10 am for students currently enrolled in Cincinnati Ballet’s Otto M. Budig Academy, followed by open audition for gymnasts at 2:30 pm and open audition for all roles beginning at 4 pm. Young ladies are asked to wear a leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Young men should wear a t-shirt, tights and ballet slippers. THE NUTCRACKER features the beloved holiday story of Clara, a little girl who embarks on a fantastical journey with her Nutcracker Prince through the Land of Sweets, meeting colorful and exciting characters along the way. The Cincinnati holiday favorite was re-envisioned in 2011, with new sets by John Ezell, costumes by Carrie Robbins, lighting by Trad A Burns and choreography by Artistic Director Victoria Morgan.

Auditions Announced for VANITIES at Fairfield Footlighters

fflA bittersweet comedy that is an astute, snapshot chronicle of the lives of three Texas girls.

Auditions: August 7 & 8 at 6:30 PM

Auditions will consist of cold-readings from the script. Please be prepared to list all rehearsal conflicts.

Cast: 3 women, able to play stage ages from 18 to 30.

Auditions Announced for SOMETHING’S AFOOT at Gaslight Theater Players

MISC_Auditions2Gaslight Theater Players will be holding auditions for the musical SOMETHING’S AFOOT, book, music and lyrics by James McDonald, David Vos, and Robert Gerlach with additional music by Ed Linderman, on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, August 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
  • Saturday, August 19th from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM
  • Monday, August 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
  • Tuesday, August 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Auditions will be held at the Gaslight Theater in Georgetown.

SOMETHING’S AFOOT is a murder mystery musical that spoofs detective stories, mainly the works of Agatha Christie, and especially her detective novel And Then There Were None (a.k.a. Ten Little Indians). The play involves a group of people who are invited to the lake estate of Lord Dudley Rancour. When the wealthy lord is found dead, it’s a race against the clock to find out whodunnit.

There are 4 female roles, 6 males.  Please bring a musical selection to perform.  A CD player will be available.

Show dates are November 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th.

The Human Race Theatre Company to Hold Young Actor Auditions for A CHRISTMAS STORY, August 26, 2017

hrtc_red-logo(Dayton, OH) —The Human Race Theatre Company (HRTC) and the Victoria Theatre Association are holding auditions for the young actors (ages 10 -14) for Philip Grecian’s classic holiday comedy based on the motion picture of the same name, A CHRISTMAS STORY. Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 26 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Metropolitan Arts Center, 126 N. Main Street, downtown Dayton.

The available roles include our hero, Ralphie, his younger brother Randy, best friends Schwartz and Flick, bully Scutt Farkas, Esther Jane, and Helen.

The Human Race will start accepting audition appointments by phone starting Tuesday, August 8 at 10:00 AM. Contact Company Manager, Collin Simpson, at (937) 461-3823 ext. 3116 to make an audition appointment.
