Auditions Announced for HONKY TONK ANGELS at Kincaid Regional Theatre

Kincaid Regional Theatre is proud to announce auditions for HONKY TONK ANGELS, running from July 10-25, 2025.

Synopsis: When three gutsy gals from different backgrounds take charge of their lives, they decide to follow their honky tonk dreams to the city of Nashville.  Combining 30 classic country tunes (including “Stand By Your Man,” “9 to 5,” “Harper Valley PTA” and more!)  HONKY TONK ANGELS is a hilarious, foot-stomping good time from the creator of ALWAYS…PATSY CLINE.

All roles are paid positions.

Kincaid Regional Theatre is a semi-professional theatre that performs in Falmouth, KY.  Some rehearsals may take place in NKY.

Audition Requirements:

Please prepare 16-32 bars of a country song (a ‘musical theatre’ country song will also be accepted).

Please bring a resume/headshot and any conflicts from June 2-July 3. Note: Tech week will be July 6-9.

Performances (Thursdays-Sundays)

Evenings at 7PM:  July 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, and 25

Matinees at 2:30PM: July 13, 19, 20

Character Descriptions:

Angela (Female – Mid 30s-Late 40s): A Texas housewife. She has a great sense of humor and a fiercely independent streak. She identifies with “Roseanne,” an earth-mother comedienne.

Solo songs: ‘Stand By Your Man’, ‘Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’, ‘Harper Valley PTA’, ‘Almost Persuaded’.

Darlene (Female – 20s): A young woman from the deep South. She is sweet and simple. A young woman who grew up in a coal mining town in West Virginia and the Mississippi Delta.  Basic guitar skills are a plus, but not necessary.

Solo songs: ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’, ‘Ballad to Billie Joe’, ‘Fancy’, ‘Angels Among Us’.

Sue Ellen (Female – 30s): A Los Angeles career woman. She is a “citified” country girl.  Smart, but frustrated at her current job.  Must be able to roller skate (basic skills).

Solo songs: ‘9 to 5’, ‘These Boots Are Made for Walking’, ‘Cleopatra Queen of Denial’, ‘Cornell Crawford’.

Auditions Announced for BEANS! at Village Players

Village Players of Fort Thomas is pleased to announce auditions for its New Works production, BEANS! – Six New Caffeinated Plays.

Auditions Announced for CHILDREN OF EDEN at Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre

  2. Bring your completed audition packet to your audition appointment.
  3. Important: Arrive 15-20 minutes BEFORE the scheduled audition time to fill out paperwork.
  4. Please prepare a song from a musical theater show tune that best represents your singing voice (please bring sheet music for our accompanist). Please note: Do not expect to sing a cappella or with pre-recorded music.
  5. Dress appropriately as you will be required to complete a dance audition/assessment.

All auditionees must complete all parts of the audition.

VIDEO LINK AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

    3. Link(s) to your audition video (Should feature you singing and dancing).

You do not have to be an expert dancer. The video just needs to give a sense of how you move/dance. The video links will not be judged on technical quality, but only on your appropriateness to the roles available in the show as demonstrated in the recording.

TECHNICAL POSITIONS INTERVIEWS: Interviews will be set up for those interested in working tech for this production. To set up your tech interview, email Jenniferperrino@clpshows.org with your name, age, phone and what tech position(s) your interested in.

Interviews slots include: Saturday, April 26, 2025 Noon, 1:00pm and 2:00pm.

Participation Fee: All participants (on stage and off) are required to pay a participation fee for this summer program. Fee will be due at the first rehearsal: $200.00 for performers (includes costume and show t-shirt); $50.00 for Techies (includes show t-shirt).

Please Note: A limited amount of funds are in place to assist with the participation fee. Funds are distributed on a confidential basis. Everyone is encouraged to audition, regardless of ability to pay! Choosing the cast of the show is based upon talent, enthusiasm and availability only. Ability to pay the participation fee is never a factor in casting decisions.
What is CYPT? Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre provides a summer of great experience for performers and techies alike. Many alumni are professional actors, singers, dancers, technicians and musicians. Others are Drama, Opera, Music Theatre, Voice, Music and Broadcasting majors at colleges all over the country. To date, over 3,100 teens have been a part of CYPT!

CYPT has produced 39 years of exciting shows, including: Legally Blonde, Footloose, Hello Dolly, Anything Goes, The Pajama Game, Godspell, Les Misérables, Crazy For You, The Wedding Singer, Grease, Hairspray, West Side Story, Beauty and the Beast, The Music Man, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar and many more!

CYPT is the recipient of the Post-Corbett Award for Outstanding Arts Organization, plus, the National Recreation and Parks Arts and Humanities Award, and the Ohio State Award for Best Student Program.

CYPT brings together scores of teens each summer, on stage and off. In 2024, participants came from 36 different schools, from all over the Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana region.

CYPT is for you! The teenage performer/techie interested in three things: 1) Theatrical Experience; 2) A Summer project with a difference; 3) A lot of new friends with the same interests.

Auditions Announced for SUPERHERO at CenterStage Players

CenterStage Players is excited to announce auditions for our regional premiere of SUPERHERO – Music & Lyrics by Tom Kitt / Book by John Logan

SHOW SYNOPSIS: Superhero tells the story of a mother and son grappling with a devastating loss and the mysterious stranger who helps them on their journey. Before we can save the world, we have to save each other. From the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer of Next to Normal and the Tony Award-winning writer of Red comes a deeply human new musical about a fractured family, the mysterious stranger in apartment 4-B, and the unexpected hero who just might save the day. Original cast recording is currently available on YouTube.

AUDITION LOCATION: Dunham Center for the Arts – 1945 Dunham Way – Cincinnati, OH

AUDITION DATES: Monday and Tuesday, June 16 and 17 from 7:00-9:30 each evening. Please prepare a 16-32 bar musical selection that best displays your vocal talents. Auditions will also consist of cold readings from the script. Walk-ins will be accommodated if space is available. Please bring a headshot, resume, and list of conflicts from July through September.

SHOW DATES: Friday and Saturday, September 12 & 13 (7:30 PM) Sunday, September 14 (2:00 PM) Thursday-Saturday, September 18-20 (7:30 PM). Rehearsals will begin on July 14 and be held Mon-Thurs evenings. All rehearsals and performances will be held at the Dunham Arts Center.

ROLES AVAILABLE (no roles have been pre-cast):

• Simon – A naive and imaginative high schooler struggling with the loss of his father. Loves comic books and is still trying to grow out of his awkward phase. (Strong Tenor – Vocal Range C3-A4)

• Charlotte – Simon’s mother, trying to reconnect with her hurting son while struggling with her own depression from the loss of her husband. (Vocal Range G3-D5)

• Jim – An uncomfortable and nervous man who lives alone. He is also secretly a powerful superhero from another planet. (Strong Tenor – Vocal Range C3-A4)

• Vee – A very confident high school girl, deeply in love with social causes. She just wants to make the world a better place. (Vocal Range G3-C5)

• Dean Fulton/Sea Mariner – The Dean of an accredited University, and Charlotte’s boss. Kind and patient, but still a stern employer. He also doubles as The Sea Mariner, the main character of the comic books that Simon loves to write.

• Vic – The landlord of Simon and Charlotte’s building. A gruff and serious exterior hides a kind man who takes an interest in others.

• Rachel/The Princess – Vee’s best friend, a ride-or-die who supports Vee unconditionally. She also doubles as a princess who is kidnapped in Simon’s comic books.

• Dwayne/Crush – A stereotypical high school bully, he’s obnoxious, rude, and mean to pretty much everyone he knows. He also doubles as Crush, the Sea Mariner’s evil arch-nemesis in Simon’s comic books.
