Auditions Announced for CHARLOTTE’S WEB the Musical at Beechmont Players

Rehearsals:
Beginning June 5 and will run Sunday afternoons and Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We will work around conflicts, but appreciate those being in writing up front.

This production was previously cast in 2020, and was never performed due to COVID. We have asked the cast to reprise their roles. The ones listed here are available for both adults and children 9 and up.

  • Wilbur: teen or adult – voice part: tenor/mezzo-soprano
  • John Arable: adult male role Stage Age: 30 – 40 voice part: tenor/Baritone
  • Martha Arable: adult female role Stage age: 30 – 40  voice part: soprano/mezzo/alto
  • Edith Zuckerman: adult female role Stage Age: 30 – 40 voice part: soprano/mezzo/alto
  • Avery Arable: young boy, Stage Age 9 – 11 voice part: unchanged male voice
  • Fern Arable: Young Girl, stage age 12 – 14 voice part: soprano, mezzo-soprano
  • Goose/Gander:Adults or teens, voice part: any
  • Lamb: Teen/child, voice part: Any
  • Ensemble: All voice parts, all ages

Dancing is more movement-based.

Auditions will consist of a prepared 16 – 32 bar piece that fits the character you are interested in playing. There may be cold reads from the script if necessary. Accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music for your song and mark your start/stop places. No dancing auditions will be necessary.

Auditions Announced for THIS RANDOM WORLD at Mariemont Players

Audition Information

Date/Time:

  • Monday, May 23, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Mariemont Players, Walton Creek Theater, 4101 Walton Creek Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227​

Audition Requirements: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Headshot and resume are optional but appreciated.

Rehearsal times: Rehearsals will begin in early June.

Synopsis: We want to believe that serendipity brings us together, but is that just a myth? Mining the comedy of missed connections, This Random World asks the serious question of how often we travel parallel paths through the world without noticing. From an ailing woman who plans one final trip, to her daughter planning one great escape and her son falling prey to a prank gone wrong, this funny, intimate, and heartbreaking play explores the lives that may be happening just out of reach of our own.

Available roles:

NOTE – Ages are highly dependent on the casting pool. The director is looking for an eclectic, diverse cast – all are encouraged to audition!

  • Scottie Ward – a woman in or around her 70s
  • Tim Ward – her son, age: 29ish
  • Beth Ward – her daughter, age: 38ish
  • Bernadette – her aide, age: 30s
  • Rhonda – Bernadette’s younger sister, age: late 20s
  • Claire – Tim’s ex-girlfriend, age: 29ish
  • Gary – Claire’s ex-boyfriend, age: 30s

Auditions Announced for FRANCINE’S WILL at The Drama Workshop

TDW_VERTTDW Announces Auditions for FRANCINE’S WILL

The Drama Workshop is pleased to announce open auditions for Francine’s Will, by Mary Dattilo. The play is directed by Becky Collins and produced by C.J. Bossart.

Auditions will take place Sunday, May 15th from 6pm-9pm and Monday May 16th from 7pm-9pm at the Glenmore Playhouse, 3716 Glenmore Ave. Cheviot Oh 45211. Parking is in the Cappel’s lot on Gamble Ave., or at the metered street parking on Glenmore Ave. (Metered parking is free at the audition times.)

The 10 performances are on weekends August 5-21, 2022: Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm.  There is also one Thursday performance on 8/18 at 7:30pm. All productions take place at the Glenmore Playhouse, 3716 Glenmore Ave. Cheviot Oh 45211.

Rehearsals will begin mid-June. No previous experience required; all roles are open.  Looking for a wide range of backgrounds, experience, and expressions.

Audition requirements:

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  You may be asked to stay to read with others auditioning.  Please bring a list of any conflicts for the months of June through August.

You may also virtually submit an audition video of a 1-2 minute comedic monologue to the director (beckykcollins@gmail.com) or producer (Charles.bossartjr@gmail.com) in lieu of an in-person audition.

All those auditioning have vaccinations up to date and be prepared to show their vaccination cards.  TDW follows all current CDC requirements.

Summary:
Francine Faraday dies and leaves her entire estate to her longtime companion H.P. Manly. While the loyal members of Francine’s staff are delighted, her money-hungry relatives are furious. Though the will is ironclad, the relatives find that they can inherit Francine’s fortune if H.P. dies of “natural” causes. As the family plots H.P.’s demise, the staff schemes to save him, resulting in counter-plots and mixed-up romances aplenty. Francine’s Will is a comedy in two acts.

  • Tiffany Trevor (she/hers)- Stanley’s girlfriend; stage age 20-30s

Healthy Humor, Inc. seeks local, experienced, professional performing artists/actors to perform year-round in pediatric hospitals. A specialty in variety skills such as physical comedy, improvisation, music, clowning, magic, juggling, dance or puppetry is a distinct advantage.

The position requires an open mind and heart, maturity, selflessness, and a desire to utilize one’s art in service to the needs of others. It demands an ability to connect playfully with people of all ages from diverse religious, racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. A well-developed funny bone is essential.

This is an ongoing, part-time, paid position, working for Healthy Humor Inc., a national company of elite performing artists who have dedicated themselves to creating moments of joy, wonder, laughter and comfort to hospitalized children and all others who need it the most. Our encounters are spontaneous and flexible to respond to the immediate needs of our targeted audience. Healthcare Clowning is a growing profession, worldwide; Healthy Humor’s founders have over 60 years of experience in the field.

We will be hiring several artists for a troupe that has grown together artistically, with a common vocabulary upon which to draw in their play,  in service to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
