Directed by John Leo Muething and produced by Katie Jensen and Aimee Ward, Art will be presented in six performances over two weeks from Friday, February 23 to Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Village Players Theater, 8 N Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY 41075. Performances will commence at 8:00pm, except for the Sunday, February 25 matinee at 2:00pm. Tickets are $20 and available online at www.villageplayers.org.

Featuring:

  • Serge – Eric Thomas
  • Marc – Keith Cassidy
  • Yvan – Jay Dallas Benson

“Art” revolves around three friends, Serge, Marc, and Yvan, whose relationships are tested when Serge buys an expensive modern painting – a white canvas with white lines. This seemingly simple act becomes a catalyst for a series of humorous and poignant discussions about the nature of art, personal taste, and the value we place on our friendships. As the characters grapple with differing perspectives, “Art” provides a witty and insightful commentary on the intricacies of human relationships.

Director John Leo Muething says, “I am thrilled to see this production and these characters come to life. We have an amazing cast that I think will have people rolling in their seats.”

Village Players of Fort Thomas is a vibrant community theatre, continually producing plays and musicals for almost 60 years. Our productions range across a spectrum of periods and styles, presented in our intimate, three-quarter-thrust performance space in the heart of Fort Thomas, Kentucky. MUSICAL OF MUSICALS the Musical Runs Oct. 20-28

SSP_Musical of MusicalsMUSICAL OF MUSICALS the Musical
Sunset Players
Oct. 20-28
Arts Center at Dunham [West Price Hill]

Directed by Dennis Murphy
Music directed by Linda Abbott

Cast: Lisa Breithaupt, Nicholas Dunker, Logan Dunn, Bob Kelley, Dana Kisor, Kent Smith & Virginia Venegas

In this hilarious satire of musical theater, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form. The basic plot: June is an ingenue who can’t pay the rent and is threatened by her evil landlord. Will the handsome leading man come to the rescue? The variations are inspired by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Kander & Ebb. This comic valentine to musical theatre was the longest-running show in the York Theatre Company’s 35-year history before moving off-Broadway.
