An ordinary used book shop by day, A Likely Story becomes a magical place each night. Thanks to a spell from the Book Fairy, the characters inside the books come alive each and every night. Six of those characters — Dorothy Gale, Robin Hood, Pollyanna, Sherlock Holmes, Heidi, and Tom Sawyer — long to help Margie, the scatterbrained owner, save her struggling store. But they’re not allowed to leave the building or be seen by human eyes.

Spring Show & Director Sought for 2024-2025 Season at CenterStage Players

We are looking to fill our early Spring slot at the Bell Tower Arts Pavilion in Evendale. The planned performance dates would be February 21-March 1, 2025.

NOTE: Since the show will be performed at Bell Tower, any shows pitched will need to have a set that is somewhat fluid (i.e., not drilled into the floor, etc.) as the rental agreement requires the space to be moved to accommodate lessons during the week.

Award-winning Covington storyteller Paul Strickland is bringing his newest show, ABSURD IT THROUGH THE GRAPVINE, to the Cincinnati Fringe Festival for two nights only next weekend. Paul’s past Fringe shows have been known to sell out, so it’s best to get tickets in advance.

ABSURD IT THROUGH THE GRAPVINE premiered earlier this month at the Orlando International Fringe Festival in Orlando, Florida. The Orlando Sentinel named the show to its list of the top shows of the festival:

(Covington, KY) Fringe favorite and Covington resident Paul Strickland returns to the Cincinnati Fringe Festival with an all-new set of stories and songs to entertain and delight. Absurd It Through The Grapevine will have its regional premiere as a Fringe Special Event with just two performances on the Know Theatre main stage.

ABOUT THE PERFORMER
Paul has participated in the Cincinnati Fringe every year since 2013. Awards at Cincy Fringe include CRITICS’ PICK-OF-THE-FRINGE (Balls of Yarns, 2017, directed by Erika MacDonald) and ALL ACCESS PICK-OF-THE-FRINGE (Ain’t True & Uncle False, 2013). Paul is one of the founders of the Cincinnati Storytelling Festival which will be returning for a fourth year in the Westwood area of Cincinnati in November. THIS YEAR:

This has been a very big year for Paul in storytelling:

  • This past fall he was honored to be invited to be a Featured Teller at the National Storytelling Festival, America’s largest and longest-running storytelling festival
  • Paul’s storytelling show Actually Unfactual was selected as the “Best of the Fest” at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival in Canada
  • This May, right before Cincy Fringe begins, Paul will spend a week in Jonesborough, Tennessee as the Teller In Residence at the International Storytelling Center
