BE HERE NOW
Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
Feb. 9-March 11
Shelterhouse Theater [Eden Park]

Directed by Portia Krieger

Two lost souls come together under most unusual circumstances in this deeply insightful and charmingly funny world premiere. Surrounded by painfully cheerful co-workers, Bari is deeply cynical and woefully underemployed working at a small-town fulfillment center. After an unexpected and unexplainable turn of events, Bari finds herself on an enlightening new path. When she meets Mike, a man who makes art out of garbage, it’s Bari’s turn to pull another out of the darkness. Be Here Now asks what we are willing to do for love and happiness and to create meaning in our lives. Advisory: Appropriate for adults and older teenage audiences. This searching story about existential happiness contains adult language, sexual content and other mature themes that are handled with both humor and honesty.

InBocca Performance is pleased to announce the winter theatre production of A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM, an exploration of the mysterious death of Edgar Allan Poe involving dance, original songs, and a script built largely from Poe’s stories and poems. The famed writer was due to be wed to his childhood sweetheart upon his return from a business trip to Philadelphia—but then he vanished. Poe was missing for five days before being discovered on the verge of death in Baltimore. What horrors and wonders did he experience in that time? Join Poe on a journey fantastic and strange as he navigates the world between life and death—the world of dreams, within dreams, within dreams…

A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM will run Saturday, January 20th through Tuesday, January 23rd. All performances are at 8 P.M. at Woodward Theatre (1404 Main Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202).

Tickets are $15, and the show is appropriate for most ages. To order tickets, please visit inboccaperformance.com or www.cincyticket.com/adreamwithinadream

InBocca Performance utilizes experimental theatre methods to create devised works, which build actors’ craft and produce a unique experience for the audience. Actors construct their own scenes, choreograph dance segments, and work with diverse musical genres, all under general direction from producer Caroline Stine and director Mandie Reiber.

History of the Company
InBocca Performance humbly began as the Cliffview Players in a basement in 1997 and became a main stage company in 2008. Notable past performances for the Ft. Thomas Community Theatre were Peter Pan in 2008 and Into the Woods in 2010. Artistic Director Caroline Stine began working with young actors to devise theatrical pieces in the summer of 2011 at The Village Players in Ft. Thomas, KY. In 2012, they created The Maid of Orleans, an emotionally charged production about Joan of Arc.

The next year, they created Romeo y Margarita, a story that combined the lyricism of Shakespearean verse with the romance of the Spanish language. They then expanded to create art within greater Cincinnati, including a sellout production of Swan Lake: A Waking Dream at the Southgate House Revival in 2015, followed by My Twisted Face at Cincinnati Fringe Festival.

In 2016, InBocca performed at Cincy Fringe again with Charlie’s Girls, which built a script almost entirely from testimonies from the trials of the Charles Manson murders.

In 2017, InBocca created ALICE, a dance/theatre sequel to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland set in a Victorian asylym and staged at the Mockbee.

Ms. Caroline Stine received her Bachelor degree from Butler University and her Masters in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. She received theatrical training in Italy and Russia and participated in the Crisis Arts Festival in Arezzo, Italy. She is currently teaching at Northern Kentucky University and Notre Dame Academy.

Actors Needed for GREAT ROOM ESCAPE

MISC_Great Escape Room LogoAre you an actor looking for a job?

We are looking for actors who have a passion for delivering a good time and great customer service. You must be motivated and energetic, fun and free spirited.  We are currently looking for individuals who can be quick witted and fast thinkers because most of the job is improv.

I have roles as an ’80s dance party host who helps guests get the clues they need to get out of the room before mom gets home and you are all grounded, a zombie who chases you around the room and tries to eat your brains before you can figure out how to get out of the room, a professor who is a bit eccentric who is there to give guests a little helping hand should they get stuck on a clue and a game host who teaches guests how to throw axes. All roles are gender neutral so anyone can play any role.

We are located in West Chester Township Just off of 747.

Our team members have a good time at work. Where else can you work that allows you to be wild and crazy and play games?

Email me at Travis@GreatRoomEscape.com for more details.

We would love have you come be part of our team!
