Auditions Announced for ALMOST, MAINE at Stagecrafters

Performance dates are October 27 & 28 and Nov. 2, 3 & 4, 2018.

Auditions will be held at 5779 Bomark Court in Blue Ash, OH 45242 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script.

Produced through special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

There are 17 roles played by either 8 or 11 actors

Please bring Resume and Head shot. If no head shot is available, a picture may be taken.

Please be prepared to provide conflicts from August 25 through November 4, 2018.

Rehearsals will be by scene, so only the persons called for that scene will need to be at that rehearsal, until mid October. There are 11 short scenes: the Prologue (which continues in the Interlogue and Epilogue), Her Heart, Sad and Glad, This Hurts, Getting It Back, They Fell, Where It Went, Story of Hope, and Seeing the Thing. Besides a few references to characters in other scenes, the stories do not intertwine.

Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

Directions:: I-71 to exit 15 (Pfeiffer Rd Exit) (the exit between Ronald Reagan and I-275)
If you are heading north on I-71, turn left on Pfeiffer
If you are heading south on I-71, turn right on Pfeiffer
Turn right at the first major street (Kenwood Rd.)
Turn right at the first street (Kenridge Dr.) in 0.7 miles
Turn left on the first street (Bomark Ct.)
If you count the house on the corner, Arny’s is the 4th house on the left

Director Applications Being Accepted for Mariemont Players 2019-2020 Season

MPI_logoMariemont Players is currently accepting applications for directing for the MPI 2019-2020 Season. To receive an application and additional information please contact Dee Anne Bryll at bryllcohen@gmail.com.

Mareimont Players hope to present theatre that make our audience think and feel about what they see on our stage. We want our patrons to be entertained but just as importantly we want them to feel an emotional connection to the material.

Our season slots are September, November, January, March, May, and July. The committee is looking for comedies that can make an audience laugh, a drama that makes them cry, or best of all a show that can do both. It could be a mystery that keeps them guessing until the end or a musical that has them singing in their seats. It could be a favorite classic with a fresh production or an exciting new show.

In addition, we want to provide opportunities for local actors, designers, and technicians to continue to grow and develop as artists.

Deadline for applications is July 15, 2018.

Auditions Announced for THE LITTLE FOXES at Dayton Theatre Guild

DTGOpen audition notice for THE LITTLE FOXES by Lillian Hellman

Auditions will be held Mon & Tue, June 4 & 5, 2018, starting at 7:00 pm both nights.
Production dates: Aug 17-Sep 2, 2018

The Dayton Theatre Guild at the Caryl D. Philip TheatreScape
430 Wayne Ave, Dayton OH, 45410
937-278-5993 — www.daytontheatreguild.org

Directed by Kathy Mola
Produced by Debra Kent
Assistant produced by Brian Buttrey

In a small Alabama town in the year 1900, a southern family’s selfish pursuit of the American Dream ends up destroying them and those they love. Three siblings — the manipulative Regina, the cruel and arrogant Oscar, and the possessive Benjamin — have decided to partner together to increase their already substantial, ill-gotten wealth. But Regina’s terminally ill husband, Horace, refuses to give them the money they need. In the end, blood and money mix with money coming out on top, leaving a broken family behind.

Casting Requirements:

PLEASE NOTE: This production will audition earlier than usual to allow for the construction of the many period costumes needed. This will also allow time for everyone to plan for conflicts as much as possible!

(While participation in FutureFest will not necessarily prevent you from being cast, obviously the fewer conflicts the better!)

THE LITTLE FOXES takes place in the south and Southern accents will be used. While not required for auditions, any attempt will be appreciated.

  • Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
  • A résumé and headshot are not required but are appreciated.
  • Please provide a list of all known conflicts between June 6 and Sep 2, 2018, including weekends.
  • Director’s note: I would like to have an idea of whether we could start blocking some scenes in June — although rehearsals will not start in earnest until July 9th.
