Cincinnati:  The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati invites audiences to see a holiday classic like it’s never been seen before. What’s the fun twist?!  All characters in this 45-minute production are performed by ONE PERSON – from Scrooge to Tiny Tim!

BAH HUMBUG! A ONE-MAN CHRISTMAS CAROL will be presented for two performances only on December 1 on TCT’s Ralph & Patricia Corbett Showtime Stage on Red Bank Road.

Charles Dickens’ famous holiday classic was adapted and directed by Damian Gillen and features Chris Logan Carter playing every role.  Audiences will be mesmerized by this imaginative and magical re-telling of the powerful holiday tale of hope and compassion.

This show is perfect for children in grades K-12 (and adults too!)

Showtimes are:

  • Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

A question-and-answer session follows every show.

Tickets are $13 each (plus service fees) and are available exclusively through ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.  Tickets available now.

The show will be performed on the Ralph and Patricia Corbett Showtime Stage, 4015 Red Bank Road, Cincinnati, OH  45227.  Only 152 seats are available for each performance.

Live on Stage: Sinclair Theatre’s A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS

Back by popular demand, Sinclair Theatre will present A Charlie Brown Christmas LIVE ON STAGE in Blair Hall, Dec. 13-16, on the downtown Dayton campus. Listed by local media as a “Can’t-Miss Family Show to Celebrate the Holidays,” this 40-minute production is a perfect introduction for young children to LIVE theatre.

Directed by Gina Kleesattel with music direction by David Brush and choreography by Rodney Veal, this faithful stage adaptation of the 1965 animated TV special based on Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts charactersfeatures Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang as they grapple with the real meaning of Christmas. Featuring colorful costumes and scenery, the show is perfect for school, church, scout and other youth groups.

“This has become a tradition for groups and families as we enter our fifth year of performances,” says Gina Neuerer, chair of Sinclair’s Music, Theatre and Dance Dept. “We’re thrilled that people are gathering friends and family to come to Blair Hall to experience this very special holiday event together.”

All seats are reserved at $8 each and the regular house policy of  “no children under 6” has been lifted. However, all patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Please review detailed house policies before ordering tickets.

In partnership with Sinclair’s American Sign Language Dept., Sinclair Theatre will provide *ASL shadow interpreted performances of A Charlie Brown Christmas as indicated. Shadow interpreting is when interpreters follow actors onstage while interpreting, instead of being located off to the side of the action. Onstage interpreters include: Skylar Kurtz, Sydney Feeser, Jeri St. Clair and Erin Trace.

House Assistant Sought by Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

Position Overview: House Assistants must be self-motivated individuals who are capable of working in a fast paced, exciting entertainment environment and communicate effectively with patrons, volunteers, and in-house staff while positively representing the face of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

Reports to: House Staff Supervisors

Position Responsibilities: Pre-show set up, assisting with volunteer usher assignments, trouble-shooting seating issues, tabulating house counts, completing appropriate forms, and additional duties as deemed necessary for individual productions.

This is a seasonal, part-time position in which Candidates will be required to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Skills needed: An ideal candidate has excellent people skills with strong organizational skills, solid interpersonal/communication skills, be a team player, and able to handle the stress of customer service well.

Physical Requirements: Able to handle light physical labor (lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 lbs.). Candidate will be required to stand and walk, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to negotiate stairs (up and down) without assistance.

Actor and Stage Manager Needed for THREE BAGS FULL at Mariemont Players

MPI_logoMariemont Players is seeking an actor and a stage manager for our January production, THREE BAGS FULL.

THREE BAGS FULL is a bright French farce about a greedy merchant who finds himself snookered into being a matchmaker for two daughters, one the child of his wife and the other the maid’s offspring. Rebellious young ladies, a comely new maid, pregnant ladies and mistaken identities lead to explosive hilarity. A larcenous employee who has embezzled half a million dollars even offers to return it for a managerial position and the daughter’s hand. Half of the loot is in diamonds and half in cash the stashes in separate but identical bags. A third identical bag contains the maid’s skivvies.

Production Dates: January 11th-27th

Role Available:

Preston Cottingham (20’s-30’s) – Lazy son of Mr Cottingham. In love with the Barlow’s maid.

We are also in need of a Stage Manager. No experienced required – will train.
