One Off Productions Presents Absurdist Morality Play THE PYROMANIACS

Screenshot

(Cincinnati, OH — March 19, 2026) One Off Productions is excited to present its fourth show The Pyromaniacs, written by Max Frisch and translated by Alistair Beaton, running March 25-April 4 at Gabriel’s Corner in Over-the-Rhine. This show comes after last summer’s Judith, Deliver Us and successful runs of Happy Birthday, Wanda June and Romeo and Juliet: A Fool’s Paradise. Founder Rupert Spraul directs, and co-founder Hannah Gregory serves as stage manager. Audiences can expect to see OOPs regulars, as well as new faces onstage: Ellyn Broderick, Wesley Carman, Kevin Crowley, Terry Gosdin, R. Graham Rogers, Katie Scarlett, and Rory Sheridan make up the ensemble.

In The Pyromaniacs, well-to-do man of business Brett Biedermann has got things under control, until he discovers that the two men he’s invited into his home are the pyromaniacs who have already burned down much of the town. He and his superficial wife, concerned only with saving themselves and their home, decide to appease the pyros—which serves only to postpone the inevitable.

Director Rupert Spraul says, “The Pyromaniacs is an absurdist parable about human complacency, and the damning impulse to put selfish superficial comfort above community. Skirting any accountability, we choose to ignore the warnings of an imminent catastrophe and compromise our values to maintain personal security and comfort. It’s a farce about accommodating the evil that will be our destruction. The Pyromaniacs urges its audience to consider how we let events like the ones in the play happen. And it’s also very funny.”

The Pyromaniacs runs at Gabriel’s Corner, 1425 Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, OH, 45202 on:
