Auditions Announced for HOME BREW THEATRE 8 and Agatha Christie’s THE MOUSETRAP at The Drama Workshop

The Drama Workshop announces auditions for two productions, Home Brew Theatre 8 and Agatha Christie’s THE MOUSETRAP

HOME BREW THEATRE is The Drama Workshop’s celebration of short plays by local authors. There will be four performances the weekend of January 10-12, 2025.
There will be two sessions of auditions

  • Sunday, October 13: 6-8pm
  • Monday, October 14: 7-9pm

Agatha Christie’s THE MOUSETRAP takes place in a remote guesthouse during a snowstorm. The play follows a group of eight people who become suspects when one of them is murdered. They must figure out who the killer is, and who will be the next victim, while also revealing their own secrets.
Performance dates are weekends between Feb 28 – March 16, 2025.

There will be two sessions of auditions

  • Sunday October 6, 7-9pm
  • Tuesday October 8, 7-9pm

Possible callbacks Wednesday October 9, 7-9pm

But danger is lurking, and it’s up to Sally and her new friends Dave and Harmonica to defeat the schemes of the evil Lord Murderdeath. Will she become the hero like the one in her favorite series? And who is the mysterious Censor who keeps rewriting the story as it goes along? This loving parody will thrill fans and newcomers alike.

TCT Presents Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR. This October

“A Tale as Old as Time…” 

Cincinnati – The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s 24-25 Farewell MainStage Season at the Taft Theatre opens with a dazzling, brand-new production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. October 12-21, 2024. Tickets are on sale now at www.thechildrenstheatre.com. This is the company’s last season at the Taft Theatre before opening the reimagined Emery Theater in October 2025.

Based on the original Tony Award-nominated Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. The show features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. Book by Linda Woolverton. Originally Directed by Robert Jess Roth. Originally Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end, and he will transform into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

TCT’s production will be directed by TCT’s Associate Artistic Director, Maddie Jones, and choreographed by Artistic Director Roderick Justice.

Ideal for ages 4+. This production runs approximately an hour without intermission.

Synopsis:
A family celebrates the sixty-fifth birthday of plantation owner Big Daddy. The mood is somber, despite the festivities, because a number of evils poison the gaiety: greed, sins of the past and desperate, clawing hopes for the future spar with one another as the knowledge that Big Daddy is dying slowly makes the rounds. Maggie wants to give Big Daddy the news that she’s finally become pregnant by his favorite son, Brick, but Brick won’t cooperate in her plans. Swarming around them are their intrusive, conniving relatives, all eager to see Maggie put in her place and Brick tumbled from his position of most-beloved son.

SCHOOLHOUSE to Rock Mason Community Players

Mason Community Players is going to rock the house … the “school” house … in its Fall production of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE!

More than 40 performers, both cast and musicians, will bring back to life the familiar tunes that burst into homes across the nation from 1973 to 1985. Time to immerse yourself in grammar, math, science, and history in a unique and upbeat way. Revisit these childhood memories once again or come find out why Schoolhouse Rock was so popular and how it taught a generation that “learning is power.”

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! takeS the stage September 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14 at 7:30pm and September 8 at 2:00pm at the Mason Community Playhouse, 5529 Mason Rd, Mason, OH 45040.

The show is produced by Mary Stan Fizer, directed by Laureen Catlin, assistant directed by Deb Davidson, and stage managed by Dana Davis. Lara Gonzalez is the show’s music director.
