Auditions Announced for DOUBLEWIDE, TEXAS at Village Players

VP_new logoVillage Players of Fort Thomas is holding auditions for DOUBLEWIDE, TEXAS by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten on Monday May 15 at 7:00 PM and Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00 PM in the street-level Judith M. Sarakatsannis Gallery at 8 N. Ft. Thomas Ave. 41075.

We are also accepting virtual auditions (see below for details). COVID-19 vaccination required.

In-person auditions: Cold readings, sides provided. Resume and headshot appreciated but not required. Bring all conflicts between August 1 and October 9.

Virtual auditions: send a 60-second comic monologue to no later than 5:00 PM Tuesday, May 16.

Resume and headshot appreciated but not required. Send all conflicts between August 1 and October 7.

Rehearsals begin in early August. Show dates are September 29, 30, October 1; and October 5, 6, 7.

DOUBLEWIDE, TEXAS is directed by Fred Murrell and produced by Betsy Bossart.

GEORGIA DEAN RUDD, 40s – Gregarious ball of fire, runs Bronco Betty’s cafe

LARK BARKEN, 20s – Pregnant and new in town

NORWAYNE “BABY” CRUMPLER, 40s – Good ole boy.  Good-hearted and not too bright

HAYWOOD SLOGGETT, 70s – Cranky neighbor of the Crumpler’s

JOVEETA CRUMPLER, 40s – Driven career woman trying to get out of the sticks and take a new job in Houston.

CAPRICE CRUMPLER, mid-to-late 70s – Hot mama, flashy dresser and hardy partier. Mother of Joveeta and Baby

LOMAX TANNER, 40s – Slick and smart. At least he thinks so. Too cool for school. Local Municipal manager.

STARLA PUDNEY, 40s – The Mayor’s wife, stylish.
