Auditions Announced for OUR TOWN at Beechmont Players

Beechmont Players, Inc and director Dianna L. Davis are holding auditions for BPI’s winter show, OUR TOWN by Thornton Wilder.

Synopsis:
Described by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written,” Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, the play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die.

Children & Teen roles are:

• Rebecca Gibbs: George’s little sister; female; stage age 11-13
• Wally Webb: Emily’s little brother; male; stage age 11-13
• Joe Crowell: newspaper boy; stage age 11-15
• Si Crowell: Joe’s younger brother, takes over the paper route; stage age 11-15

Bring a resume and list of conflicts from Nov 14th – Feb 18th. Headshot is encouraged but not required. Cold readings will be done from the script but knowledge of the script will be helpful.

Rehearsals will start mid November.

Show dates are February 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18, 2023 at the Anderson Center Theatre.
