Dreams Really Do Come True Feb. 17-27 at Music Hall

CB_Cinderella promo1Cincinnati Ballet presents the classic fairytale, CINDERELLA

Cincinnati, OH (February 7, 2022) – Have a ball and fall in love with CINDERELLA February 17 – 27, 2022. CINDERELLA returns to Music Hall with choreography by Artistic Director Victoria Morgan, as we continue the celebration of her 25th and final season as the Company’s artistic leader. The modern take on the classic story includes puppetry, magic illusions, and Sergei Prokofiev’s buoyant score performed live by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Carmon DeLeone.

The plucky heroine’s good deeds awaken a magical love story thanks to a little help from her Fairy Godmother. “Of course, we all know the premise of this rags-to-riches story – a humble yet plucky heroine who finds her true place in the world! While there are obstacles along the way, in the end, her dreams do come true,” said Victoria Morgan. “When I choreographed Cinderella, I was drawn to the archetypal elements of the centuries-old story — tiny mice who act as friends and confessors for our heroine, the villainous, but humorous stepsisters, and the benevolent fairy godmother. The storytelling resonates will so many of us because we recognize these characters and elements in our own lives.” Laugh out loud with the riotous Stepsisters and marvel as an ordinary pumpkin transforms onstage into a spectacular carriage. Cinderella also has some pint-sized companions – her well-known mice friends will accompany her on stage as puppets ‘danced’ by Second Company CB2 artists. Several dozen young performers from Cincinnati Ballet’s Otto M. Budig Academy will also perform in the production, making it the perfect fit for entertaining families.

Based on the 1697 story by Charles Perrault, Cinderella tells the story of young woman whose hard work and good deeds go unrecognized by her stepmother and stepsisters. She remains hopeful, despite her odds, until one day she is visited by her Fairy Godmother who magically makes her dreams come true.

All Cincinnati Ballet dancers and Cincinnati Ballet Otto M. Budig Academy young performers appearing in the production are fully vaccinated. Due to health and safety guidelines, performers may wear face coverings during the production.

The health and safety of our patrons, artists and staff remain Cincinnati Ballet’s top priority. All ticket holders aged 12 and above are required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for entry into Cincinnati Music Hall.
