When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. Freaky Friday is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic. By spending a day in each other’s shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another’s struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter.

POSITION: House Assistant

Position Overview: House Assistants must be self-motivated individuals who are capable of working in a fast paced, exciting entertainment environment and communicate effectively with patrons, volunteers, and in-house staff while positively representing the face of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

Reports to: House Staff Supervisors

Position Responsibilities: Pre-show set up, assisting with volunteer usher assignments, trouble-shooting seating issues, tabulating house counts, completing appropriate forms, and additional duties as deemed necessary for individual productions.

This is a seasonal, part-time position and requires work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Skills needed: An ideal candidate has excellent people skills with strong organizational skills, solid interpersonal/communication skills, is a team player, and able to handle the stress of customer service well.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to handle light physical labor (lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 lbs.). Must be able to stand and walk, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to negotiate stairs (up and down) without assistance.

Stage Manager and Supporting Actors Sought for WHO IS AMOS OTIS? at Memorial Hall

MISC_Casting call2WHO IS AMOS OTIS?
A provocative courtroom drama stage play premiering at Memorial Hall’s Anderson Theater in September in search of key people. All positions paid and non-Equity. Evening rehearsals begin week of Sept. 9.

Experienced Stage Manager – must be able to run rehearsals and own the room in addition to running the show.

Actors for supporting roles:

  • Stanley Rosenberg: apartment complex owner and witness between 55 and 70 who would appreciate a good cigar.
  • Amanda Beal: prosecution’s psychiatrist who is over 50 and reeks of confident intelligence.
  • Amelia Woodburn: building security supervisor and witness between 40 to 55 who would make a good drill instructor
  • The Bailiff: man between 35 and 50 in good enough shape to gag a struggling defendant. Preferably Hispanic.

Auditions Announced for WINTERFEST at Kings Island

MISC_Kings Island logoKings Island is currently holding auditions for the 2019 Winterfest season.

  • SATURDAYS – 10am to 1pm through August 31st
  • SUNDAYS – Noon to 4pm through August 25th

ALL AGES ARE ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION.

ALL POSITIONS ARE PAID- Rates range from $92.00 to $110.00 per-night.

VOCALISTS

  • Please prepare two songs in a holiday, musical theatre or pop-style.
  • Piano accompaniment will be provided.  Pre-recorded accompaniment is also acceptable.

ACTORS

  • Please prepare a 2 minute, family-friendly monologue.

All applicants should bring a current resume, head shot and a complete list of availability from early November through December 31st.

Auditions will be held in the Human Resources building at Kings Island.

All applicants will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.  Reservations are not required.
