Wardrobe/Hair and Makeup Supervisor
The wardrobe/hair and makeup supervisor is responsible for overseeing and mentoring the costume crew and hair/makeup crew. Each crew will have weekly meetings that the supervisor must attend. The supervisor will ensure that both crews are working according to the production calendar/timeline, collaborating with crews to create work that is supported by the text of the play and fitting for the show, and overseeing the rental of all costume pieces. The supervisor will need to attend technical rehearsals during the last week of the rehearsal period before each production opens. The supervisor will need to be present for every performance of each show to supervise the final execution and maintenance of all costuming, hair, and makeup. The supervisor’s job is completed by managing the strike of each show, helping students organize costume pieces, hair/makeup supplies, cleaning the dressing rooms, and preparing to return any rentals. It is preferred that the wardrobe supervisor have some sewing skills, and stage
makeup and hair ability.
