Auditions Announced for BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY at Falcon Theatre

  • Bring 1 prepared monologue preferably in the style of the character you’re reading for.
  • Please bring a headshot and resume to auditions. (please do not staple them together)

Characters:

  • ANGEL ALLEN – a thirty-four-year-old black woman who looks five years younger, former back-up singer at the Cotton Club. (This character does sing…no preparation necessary for this but the director may ask actresses interested in this role to sing something simple like a bluesy Happy Birthday)
  • GUY JACOBS – a thirtyish black man; costume designer at The Cotton Club.
  • DELIA PATTERSON – a twenty-five-year-old black woman; social worker on staff at the Margaret Sanger family planning clinic.
  • SAM THOMAS – a forty-year-old black doctor at Harlem Hospital.
  • LELAND CUNNINGHAM – a twenty-eight-year-old black man from Alabama; a six-week resident of Harlem.

Auditions Announced for YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN at Lumos Players

PLEASE PREPARE THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR AUDITION:

  • 32 bars of a Musical Theater song that shows your vocal range
  • Accompaniment track (there is a piano, but no accompanist provided – you are welcome to provide your own accompanist)
  • Sides will be sent with your audition packet once you sign-up 
  • There will be a short Choreography audition (routine taught at auditions)
  • Walk-ins are welcome and will be worked in around scheduled auditions.

Performance Dates: OCTOBER 24th, 25th & 26th

Character Descriptions (All ethnicities welcome and encouraged to audition for any role.)

  • CHARLIE BROWN – Lead. Kind and smart, but sensitive and vulnerable. (Lyric Baritone)

  • LUCY VAN PELT – Strong-willed comedienne with a great sense of timing with a warmth that comes through at the perfect moment. (Mezzo/High Alto with Strong Belt)

  • LINUS VAN PELT – Lucy’s younger brother. Sensitive and smart. The second youngest of the group, but the most mature. (Baritone)

  • SCHROEDER – Passionate musician. (Tenor)

  • SALLY BROWN – Charlie Brown’s younger sister. The youngest in the group, a fun mix of innocence and skepticism. (Soprano)

  • SNOOPY – Charlie Brown’s dog. Smart, wise-cracking and full of joy. This role is the most physically demanding in the show. (Tenor)

  • WOODSTOCK & FRIENDS – We are looking for a small group of children to play Woodstock and his feathered friends. Silly and Sweet, they will being singing and dancing with Snoopy and the rest of the cast.

An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!

Cast: Abi Esmena as Gina, Mindy Heithaus as Brinn, Jennifer Joplin as Terry, Tess Talbot as Halo & Adam Tran as Warren

Unemployed, fresh off a dead-end marriage, and searching for a way to take control of her life, Halo walks into a gym and signs up for mixed martial arts lessons. Her trainer thinks she’s a light-weight. Her mother and sister think it’s just plain weird.

Very quickly the lessons she learns in the ring bleed into the rest of her life and Halo finds herself battling against everyone around her. As she prepares for her first match, Halo realizes that life inside the cage and outside the cage are disturbingly similar. And that the only way to survive either is to fight.
