Based on the book from the beloved children’s Madeline series by Ludwig Bemelmans, this delightful play with music is a fantastic way to bring in your holiday season.

Miss Clavel takes the 12 little girls on their morning walk. They go to the zoo and then back to school for their French history lesson. Suddenly disaster strikes when everyone gets the flu! Everyone that is, except the ever-resilient Madeline. Saddened that they may not be able to go home for Christmas, the girls and Miss Clavel take to their beds. But on Christmas Eve, the adventure begins when there is a knock at the front door. Expecting to see Santa, Madeline meets the rug merchant who has brought 12 very special rugs. He reminds Madeline that Christmas is the time of miracles, and that these are not ordinary rugs! Soon everyone wakes up feeling heathy. The rug merchant shows them that they each have a magic carpet and that they can fly home to be with their families for Christmas!

Auditions Announced for OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS at Tree County Players

TREE_logoOVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS

Auditions will take place at the TCP Playhouse on Friday, November 16 at 5pm and Saturday, November 17 at 11am. Please come to one of the listed time slots if you would like to audition for a role in this show.

If necessary, callbacks will be held Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM.

Auditions consist of reading lines from the script I have provided. Familiarity with the lines is recommended, but memorization is not required.

If there are any conflicts with the times of the auditions or if you have any questions, please contact the director, Amanda Gault, via email (agault@decaturco.k12.in.us).

Be prepared for your audition. Do some research and study the characters. Youtube is a great source! You may also preview the script by contacting the director.

You must have an audition form filled out and given to the director at the start of the audition.

The success of a show depends on the full commitment of all involved. If you are auditioning, please be ready to make rehearsals a priority.

Rehearsals will begin with a read through of the script on Monday, November 19. We will most likely meet 3-4 times a week at the TCP playhouse for rehearsals. Once we have the cast in place, we will work out a schedule.

Over the River and Through the Woods will be performed at the TCP Playhouse on January 18 and 1 9 at 7:00 PM, and January 20 at 2:00 PM.
