WORLD-FAMOUS SECOND CITY TRAVELS TO CINCINNATI IN JANUARY

(CINCINNATI)—The world’s number one name in comedy returns to Cincinnati with a brand-new show. THE SECOND CITY — IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME runs for only three weeks in the Shelterhouse Theatre from Jan. 20 through 27, 2019.

The Second City has been laughing at love and its infinite scroll of side effects for decades. In the world-famous comedy company’s latest laughter-inducing undertaking, THE SECOND CITY—IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME takes shots at heartbreak, missed connections and the mire of human relationships. Your friends, your parents, even your blind date will find something achingly familiar to laugh at, thanks to comedy’s newest generation of writers and performers…who all fit squarely into the “it’s complicated” category!

“We’re delighted to bring The Second City back to the Queen City,” says Blake Robison, artistic director of the Playhouse. “Their hilarious, razor-sharp style brings sell-out crowds every time they visit. This new production will offer bright comedy to shine on January’s dreary days.”

Adult Workshop | Cost: $50

Learn the basics of improvisation from members of Chicago’s acclaimed comedy troupe while they’re here for THE SECOND CITY— IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME. The Second City’s Improv for Beginners class focuses on teaching the building blocks of improvisation to adults with little to no experience as they have a great time learning and playing with the troupe’s touring company members. The Second City’s educational programs are based on the idea that improvisation in all forms can improve your life by encouraging teamwork and collaboration, building confidence, tying success to a model of listening and support of others, and creating a safe space to take risks and encourage creativity.
