Adopted as an infant, Tamara Covington struggles both emotionally and psychologically. She left home as a teenager to search for her birth-mother, who she heard was homeless and living on the streets. During her search, Tamara goes through devastating and painful episodes of abuse, separation, and near-death experiences. Now homeless herself, she uses alcohol to give her courage on the mean streets of Chicago and watches her life spiral down to rock bottom. Only the gift of her mother’s touch can save her now.
