CAA Announces Four Additional 2017-18 Season Shows

Round Out CAA’s New Season at the Aronoff Center and the Newly-Renovated Music Hall

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is pleased to announce the addition of four shows to its 2017-18 Season at the Aronoff Center and the newly-renovated Music Hall.  From The Beatles to Chinese acrobats, from a hilarious musical about “the change” to the beauty of contemporary dance, these added shows are certain to continue CAA’s long-standing mission of presenting an eclectic mix of alternative entertainment choices to Cincinnati’s diverse audiences.

Tickets to the added season shows go on sale Friday, September 22 at 10:00 AM.  Tickets to the previously announced shows are currently on sale at www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-2787 [ARTS], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office.

RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles
Tuesday, February 27, 2018 – 7:30 PM
Music Hall – Springer Auditorium  

RAIN:  A Tribute to The Beatles returns for a record-breaking eighth CAA Presents engagement, and its first time at Cincinnati Music Hall!  As “the next best thing to seeing The Beatles!” (Associated Press),RAIN performs the full range of The Beatles’ discography live onstage, including the most complex and challenging songs that The Beatles themselves recorded in the studio but never performed for an audience. Together longer than The Beatles, RAIN has mastered every song, gesture and nuance of the legendary foursome, delivering a totally live, note-for-note performance that’s as infectious as it is transporting.

Golden Dragon Acrobats

The Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of a time-honored tradition that began more than twenty-five centuries ago. The awe-inspiring performance combines award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music, and theatrical techniques (including feats on chairs stacked ten-stories high) to present a show of breathtaking skill and beauty. The Golden Dragon Acrobats are recognized throughout the United States and abroad as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company of today.

Dance Theatre of Harlem – founded in 1969 as a beacon of hope for Harlem youth – is known for its thrilling performances that successfully challenge preconceived notions of dance. The Company consists of sixteen racially-diverse dance artists who perform an eclectic, demanding repertoire. In addition to performances in New York City, across the country, and abroad, the Company carries a message of empowerment through the arts by engaging communities through education activities for audiences and young people.

Black Violin: Classical Boom Tour

Black Violin is composed of classically trained violist and violinist Wil B. and Kev Marcus, who blend classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B, and bluegrass music to create a unique and high-energy style they call “Classical Boom.” Accompanied by drummer Nat Stokes and DJ SPS, Black Violin has spent the last several years performing for sold-out crowds across the country.

Alton Brown: Eat Your Science  
Saturday, October 21, 2017 – 7:30 PM
Aronoff Center – Procter & Gamble Hall   

Alton Brown Live: Eat Your Science, the follow-up to the smash “Edible Inevitable” tour, hits the road again. Fans can expect all-new everything including songs, multimedia presentations, talk-show antics, and bigger and better potentially dangerous food demonstrations.  Brown has a knack for mixing together a perfect base of science, music, and food in to two hours of pure entertainment. He’s also contemplating more sophisticated protective gear for folks in the first few rows…just in case things get messy…again!

Brain Candy Live
Thursday, November 30, 2017 – 7:30 PM
Aronoff Center – Procter & Gamble Hall   

Adam Savage (MythBusters), one of television’s most loved personalities, has joined forces with Michael Stevens (Vsauce), one of YouTube’s biggest stars. They’re bringing their crazy toys, incredible tools, and mind-blowing demonstrations for a celebration of curiosity that’s an interactive, hands-on, minds-on theatrical experience like no other. Adam and Michael’s Brain Candy Live experience is like a two-hour play date with Walt Disney, Willy Wonka, and Albert Einstein.
